We stayed in a pool villa with beach view, very nice bungalow and pool, But, the AC has to be one of the most noisy ever! Staff tried to fix it, but didn't understand what seemed to be the problem. The issue was not inside the bungalow but at the back where the AC's compressor was located, it made such big vibrations that then transferred inside like a low bas noise, all over the bungalow. For this heavily overpriced bungalow, everything should have been absolutly perfect. Also, we visited and checked out the resort and bungalows before booking, we asked/booked a specific bungalow by the beach ("no problem, sir, you will get that bungalow"), but at arrival we got a different one, no explanation why, just that the other one was not available anymore. Beach is nice, pool bar is nice, mediocre restaurant food and staff. We got no refund for bad AC. Staff offered us a good price the next time we make reservation. That will never happen, we will book at Pavniman instead.

Room Tip: Make sure AC is quite, we had to turn it of at night to be able to sleep. When we woke up, we had a...

We stay here every year and book Beach- front Pool Villa. This is the place where I feel fascinated and comfortable. Staff is friendly and ever smiling. Ocean is .... what can be better than ocean -incomparable. Room is clean and cosy, you may ask for an extra bed for a child. Thursday Tea Ceremony makes you feel caressed and welcome. If you want to have a really good time, if you need to forget all your problems and troubles, go there and enjoy every minute!

Room Tip: Beach-front Pool Villa = your best choise

We, family of 5, spent almost 2 weeks in this Resort in Jan-Febr of 2014.

Staff was polite and quite efficient, the territory of the resort is well take care of. The bungalows are OK, just don't expect too much.

The resort has got the best part of Klong Prao beach. Till, approximately, 8:30 am all sun chairs (appr 40 pcs) and chaise longue (appr another 40 pcs) were free, by 10 am most of them were already busy.

Beach vendors do exist, on some days they can approach you as many as 10-12 times in a single hour...

The territory of the resort is green, with plenty of palm trees, bushes and flowers. Footpaths are made of concrete with the ceramic tiles pieces embedded. Navigation along curvy footpaths are not too intuitive, but not too complicated either.

Breakfast are quite good: egg stations, waffle stations, yogurts, pastry, jams, milk, coffee, teas, sausages, bacon, fruits, 4 different Asian dishes (menu changing every day).

Lunch and dinner is another matter, though. Service was OK, but the food was of mediocre quality. Once they even served chicken yellow curry, left from the breakfast, instead of chicken satay we ordered. Also, in this restaurant they serve very bad, re-heated french fries, worst on the whole Koh Chang, I think, But still , they charge you a good 80 bhat for a small portion of such disgusting potato.

Next to the hotel you may find all you need: restaurants, cafes, food stalls, massage parlors, tour agents, exchange office and much more.

The sea was always murky, because of the sand, I think. One day two jellyfishes were noticed in the sea in close proximity to the beach. They were extracted from the sea and thrown into garbage can.

Taxi ride to neighborhood starts from 50 bhat per adult, children are free. Going to Bang Bao costs 150 bhat per adult.

All in all, we are happy with our stay in Koh Chang Paradise Resort and Spa.

We came back to this resort for the fifth year and we noticed big improvement in the bungalow, restaurant and other facilities.

The staff is still very helpful and professional.

The room was very clean as usual and there has been fresh flowers during all the stay.
What has been surprising were the prices of the drinks into the minibar. The past years the beverages were quite expensive but this year the prices were exactly the same than in the shops around.

The furnitures of the pool are in very good condition and quality, no plastic chairs like we could see in other resorts.

In 5 years the prices of the restaurant haven't changed at all and like all the guests get 10% discount on the food, it makes this place even cheaper than all the others.

I really recommend this place for couples or families.

Room Tip: Deluxe bungalows have the best location, close to the pool and beach. If you can afford it, pool vil...

My family (husband, two kids – ages 9 and 12) and I stayed at the Paradise Resort for seven nights from Dec 27 thru Jan 2. The ferry ride to/from the mainland is about 30 minutes and has a snack bar with decent selections. The taxi ride from the ferry to the resort took another 30 minutes with about 4 stops at other resorts to drop off passengers, and no traffic. We booked a deluxe bungalow with two mattresses on the floor for the kids. The room wasn’t large but it was clean (I’m very picky about this) and comfortable. In any case, most of our time was spent on the beach, or out-and-about. The one criticism I have about the room is that the mattress was very hard - harder than most beds I’ve slept in in Thailand. The porch and surrounding garden area provided a nice respite as well as a convenient place to dry our clothes. Also, it was nice to have a water spigot near the porch to rinse our feet and beach toys. We put our bug repellent to good use, and had a mosquito hunt every night when we returned to our room for the evening. Screens on the doors would be helpful. The mandatory NY Eve Gala was fun – some of it was cheesy-fun, but it was obvious the staff had put in a lot of effort into making it special. It was great to ring in 2014 on Koh Chang and the Paradise had the best fireworks display of all the resorts along Klong Prao beach. As for food, of all the places we stayed at on our 3-week trip, the Paradise had the best breakfast buffet selections. Dinner was a different story - we had dinner at the resort restaurant on our first night and never returned. It wasn’t awful, just “meh” for the price. There are plenty of good, reasonably-priced restaurants just a walk south of the resort or a short taxi ride away. We had our best meal at Ka-Ti Culinary Restaurant. Be sure to make reservations as it’s very popular. Close to the resort, there’s a large supermarket and other smaller markets as well as stalls where you can buy souvenirs and t-shirts. We also enjoyed the Tree Top Adventures Tour (zip lining) which we had arranged via the resort. We did not try the resort’s spa services as they seemed a bit pricey compared to other similar services offered at nearby hotels. Most of our time was spent enjoying the beautiful beach which was very close to our bungalow. In fact, I’m glad we didn’t have a bungalow right on the beach as they seem to lack for privacy. All-in-all, we enjoyed our stay and definitely would return.

My BFF and I stayed at the hotel during Xmas holidays of 2013. Unlike the guests at the year of 2012, we were not in the position to decline for the New Year Gala dinner, as this was compulsory at the time of booking.
We really enjoyed staying at this hotel, since the rooms (Deluxe hillside) were lovely and very spacious, although the bathrooms (especially the shower area) could benefit from renovation.
We found the staff friendly and helpfull and although they don't seem to be highly qualified, their service surely was good enough.
However, as we had expected, the New Year Gala dinner was a total bust, apart from the traditional Thai shows.
First of all, we didn't appreciate at all that the members of the live band from Bangkok hadn't been given a dress code or didn't live up to it. Although the musicians were really good, their casual (denimlike) outfits most certainly put us off and furthermore the singers really could use some English lessons!
Secondly, the hosts of the shows were presenting the gala in a hysterical way. Although there was plenty of laughing and joking between them, but in fact they weren't funny at all nor classy for the occassion.
Finally, the buffet food was very disappointing and due to a chaotic forming of queues the standing in line for it was horrible.
All and all, this gala dinner most certainly wasn't value for the money (i.e. about 80 euros pro person).
Still, given the occassion, we would revisit this hotel on a another trip to Koh Chang and recommend it to friends.
