“Keep Going Back!!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 March 2013

Stayed at Hotel Terrasol again in February 2013. What keeps bringing us back is the location, ambience and the service. The owners are "hands on" when it comes to running the hotel and their staff are friendly, helpful and do a great job. The rooms are simple with comfortable beds that make for a good night's sleep and we especially love the rooms at the front, over the street. Hearing the horses drawn wagons and carts passing and watching the street scene from the balcony is part of the experience of Granada. And did I mention the ART!!! The owners support local artists and have great taste in art. Much of the art in the hotel is for sale. We will keep going back!!! Thank you Katya, Victor and Marcel for another great holiday.

We stayed here for 2 nights and the owners were just the nicest people. Our room didn't really have windows was the only negative thing, but we were out and about exploring so that didn't matter. Good location right in the centre of Granada.

The warm welcome at this hotel was followed up with 4 days of excellent service. The hotel is central, but our room at the back was very quiet and had a view of the cathedral. The bed was super comfortable, with nice cotton sheets, the bathroom was very good and the breakfast, while the same every day, was quite sufficient. We would certainly recommend the hotel.

We stayed at this hotel in 2008, again February 2013. The owners, Victor and Katya, are welcoming and very helpful in answering questions and making recommendations. They speak excellent English. The rooms are clean, of adequate size with comfortable bed, wi-fi, TV, phone, in-room safe, and choice of fan or air-conditioning. There is only cold water, but it's not icy cold, and to me was refreshing after the heat of Granada. Soap and shampoo are provided (and believe me this was a rarity on our trip). Breakfast, included in room rate, was fine with good coffee, fresh fruit and a very large croissant with butter and jam. The staff were all pleasant and helpful, including hauling a very heavy bag loaded with donations for a rural medical clinic, up the 3 flights of stairs even after we told them that we would do it. No elevators. This hotel is located in a safe area in the historic district, a few blocks walk from the central square. We left electronics in our room, items in the safe deposit box without any problems. It is quite apparent that Victor and Katya take great pride in their hotel and work hard to ensure that their staff provide good service. I have great difficulty believing any of the negative reviews and suspect competitor sabotage. We would absolutely return again.

Booked this hotel on the Internet from Canada to be in Granada for the week of the Poetry Festival. Cannot compliment Victor and Katya more than to say thank you so much for making our holiday! They are so welcoming and nothing is too much trouble for them. The hotel is small but so comfortable. The rooms are immaculately clean and what a nice touch for breakfast. Continental but served on pristine linen tablecloths and napkins. Really value for money with a flair focused on customer service to the max. The location is perfect - very close to the downtown hub but nice and quiet for a good nights sleep. Try it, you will not be disappointed.

Room Tip: Try to get a room with a balcony.

We stayed here for two nights. The staff were so friendly and accommodating. The owners were so great - they made recommendations and booked transportation for us from the airport, as well as a sightseeing day en route to San Juan del Sur. They sell local art right in their restaurant, and we purchased several items from them. The owners are a married couple, and the husband is American, I think, so they both spoke English for those of us that didn't know Spanish, which was helpful. They even gave us beer for our room one night when we wanted to hang out and have a little hotel "party" in my room. Again, so accommodating and awesome! We were respectful and not rowdy, so there were no issues.

Some rooms had balconies overlooking the street, but others just had tiny windows. I had a room with a balcony which was lovely to look out at the volcano in the morning.

They serve a nice, simple continental breakfast each morning, which is great - yummy croissants, fruit salad, and coffee and juice.

Definitely recommended for an affordable (US$35/night) stay in Granada!

Room Tip: Try to get a room with a balcony. You may want to splurge on a/c - it's pretty hot in those room...

The pluses of this hotel are many: great location, close to sites but on a somewhat quiet street; clean rooms with comfortable beds and the warmest "cold" showers in the country (don't know how they manage this); excellent hosts, Victor and Katya, happy to help with directions or transport, or just to give you some perspective on life in Nicaragua. An added bonus was the art work in all of the rooms and in the breakfast room, some of which is for sale. The owners are strong supporters of the local art scene and can provide information for interested parties. We hope to return.
