We found this hotel on TripAdvisor after finding that most of the major hotels were fully booked for Holy Week. The fact that Hotel Con Corazon uses its profits to support projects for street youths and for youth education was a definite plus.
We found the hotel to be a delightful building, very open and spacious main area, the giant chess pieces were fun for our 7-year-old to move around, there were hammocks to lie in, and the pool was pleasant too. The in-hotel dinner, fixed-price 3-course meals, were very reasonable; we ate there twice, for $7.50 US per person plus tip. (Just remember to add the tip on yourself, as they don't automatically).
All of the staff were very friendly and helpful. The main area walls were adorned with lovely photographs by children who were learning to use cameras artistically, I guess as part of an effort to give them a career or skill to aspire to. The photos were actually quite good.
We stayed in the family suite, rooms 17 and 18. This is a good suite, with a washroom joining the two rooms, so parents have some privacy once the kids are in bed. However room 18 suffers from being dark (the only window opens onto a vertical shaft which contains the exhaust for three room air conditioners). The other problem with room 18 is that even if you want natural air circulation, you can't do it if any of the two other rooms have their AC on, because the vertical shaft fills up with their heat. This is something the hotel should probably fix - find a different place to vent the air conditioners for those rooms. But other than that, the rooms were very nice. Not fancy, more like Ikea quality, rustic but very clean.
Breakfasts were included and were great. Plenty of fresh fruit, yogurt, granola, eggs if you wanted, fresh bread.
We paid $91 per night tax and breakfast included, during one of the highest seasons of the year - holy week. Not cheap by Latin American standards but Granada can be a pricey place and we did have two bedrooms.
The hotel was fairly quiet, other than a few guests talking around 9-10pm. Since rooms 17-18 and many of the other rooms have their windows opening on the inside of the courtyard, rather than to the street, if you have windows open you hear other people. But the flip side is that you don't hear cars or street noise.
