We compared many hotels and areas before deciding on Casa Silas. You feel right at home and never imposing on the owners. They helped us with transportation, sightseeing, places to eat and entertainment. The B & B is convenient to the many sites in Granada and the local bus station for the adventurous types. Rob prepared Naca Tamales for breakfast, a traditional meal.

Room Tip: Our room was in the back of the house so it was quiet,

We spent two lovely nights at Casa Silas at the very start of our vacation. What a great way to start a fabulous trip.

Hosts: Rob and Claudia are warm and welcoming.
Communication: Outstanding.... Rob is quick to reply to emails.
Airport pick-up: Rob arranged a car to pick us up from the airport in Managua... although generally we use local buses rather than private taxis, it was well worth it to have this convenient start to our vacation.
Room: Our room was very clean and comfortable.
House: We felt very much at home. Coming and going was easy, but we also never felt like we were inconveniencing Rob and Claudia if we hung out in their home.
Breakfasts: YUM! (Is there a way to give 6 stars???)
Location: Casa Silas is just a short walk to the market and plaza... very convenient.
Travel tips: Rob knows the area well and helped us to both plan our time in Granada as well as inform our itinerary when we left.

Thanks, Rob and Claudia! We hope to get back to visit again!

This is truly one of the best B&B we have stayed in. Rob and Claudia do just about everything right and are wonderful hosts. 5 minutes walk to the central park with dozens of restaurants and place to have a beer.
Thanks Rob and Claudia

My husband and I ended our two week trip to Nicaragua in Granada and we're so glad we stayed at Casa Silas. We only stayed one night and would definitely stay there again! The house is centrally located and easy to find. The entire house is spacious and clean - our (air conditioned) room with private bath was large and the bed was so clean and comfortable. You'd never know you were in the middle of the city at night. It was so peaceful.

Rob and Claudia are lovely people and excellent conversationalists. Rob gave us a city map and we spent a few hours walking around the city to see all the sights that Rob so expertly knew. It was the perfect tour and having the local insight made it that much better. An afternoon dip in the pool and dinner at a delicious restaurant they recommended ended the day perfectly.

Breakfast was delicious and filling. We then had Rob arrange a car to take us to the airport in Managua so we could catch our flight. His friends were also great and fun to talk to on the ride there.

It was nice to stay in such a comfortable place and have two strangers (I'd now call them friends) take such good care of us! If you are looking to visit Granada and want a great place to stay....stay here.

We stayed at Casa Silas for one week while attending Spanish classes in early November. Our hosts Rob and Claudia were graciously accommodating and helpful from the very beginning of the planning stages of this journey. This was our first time in Nicaragua and I was grateful for the car that Rob had arranged to meet us at the airport as Managua airport is not easy to navigate from at night! Grenada is an hour from the airport so we didn't get to Casa Silas until after 10 pm. Rob was there to meet us and offer a cold beverage and information, he even walked us to our Spanish school the next morning so we wouldn't get lost! The B&B has 2 rooms, each with one queen sized bed, private bath and spacious closet. The rooms have ceiling fans as well as air conditioners and wifi, Breakfast was very good and served at our convenience each morning. The pool is small and refreshing after our daily 4 hour class and we took advantage of it to cool off from the mid day heat before setting out in the early afternoons to explore Grenada. We found the local market place fascinating and it is just 2 blocks from Casa Silas. The city is beautiful, amazing churches and architecture and you must take a boat out on the lake to see the islands!

Room Tip: this is a place for the traveler, not as much as for the vacationer. There is a tv in the main area...
