we arrived in Granada on a Friday in January 2012, without a hotel reservation but several ta names. we found the hotels were mostly full, but got into the hotel cocibolca and were happy for the money.
no king or queen beds, but we had 2 double beds and a delicious hot breakfast (no meat) that got us going. It is centrally located near the plaza, and nightly street fair.

Room Tip: get as far back in the back as possible, there are street sounds in the area of the plaza all over g...

My wife and I just got back from Nicaragua. Had a great time. The entire Hotel staff was great. Starting with Don Carlos, Ramon, Karla, Karla, Karla (yes there are 3 of them, makes it easy to remember) and Raquel the Cook. They made me and my wife feal like family. Our room was cleaned daily, beds made, bathrooms cleaned and towels exchanged. Breakfast was great. Perfectly located away from the Central Park, yet only one and one blocks away from the Calzada, the strip where the food and spirits are located. We liked it so much we are making plans to go back already.

This place is down the "walking street" just a ways, and it's OK. It was $15/night for a private room/bath in Nov. 2011, but to be honest, your money is better spent at the Oasis. The service here was a bit slow, though the shared kitchen is a nice touch.

This is 2nd time at Cocibolca (1st was in 2008) and both times it has been a pleasure.
Owner, Don Carlos, is pleasant man, speaks English and runs a good hotel. Rates are
a very good value, breakfasts are good and staff is friendly. Free use of computer in lobby, a/c, cable TV and hot water in our room, which was spotless!
The location is one block west of Calle Calzada's restaurants and bars and 3 blocks from
Parque Central. In all a perfect location and a find of a hotel.

After checking out four other hotels in Granada we decided to spend three nights at the Hotel Cocibolca because it was hands down the best value for the amenities that they offered. We paid $45/night for a double which included free wireless, cable tv, breakfast, ac, and a pool. The rooms were small and basic, but the matresses were all brand new. The place seemed to be pretty popular with other tourists from Latin America. The location is just a short walk to the parque central and la Calzada.

Can't really tell what this hotel is like, We were in Granada the end of January, and went personally to the hotel to make a reservation for our last 3 days (4 weeks ahead). Manager wrote it down. When we arrived from Leon to the hotel on the date reserved, they had no rooms for us. Thanks heaps!

We stayed in the hotel on two occassions - the first time for 3 nights and the second time for 1 night. The hotel is centrally located and has a lovely courtyard. It also has a small swimming pool at the back - however there are not really any chairs / sunlougers to relax on.

The hotel has a lovely courtyard. During our first stay we had one of the rooms on the ground floor. The room was a reasonable size and quite sparsly decorated. The bathroom was quite large and had a hot shower - although the electrics appeared rather dodgy! We found the room to be a bit stuffy, probably because of the lack of air due to all the plants in the courtyard. We also got woken up about 6.30am by the staff talking loudly. On our second stay we had one of the rooms on the top floor which was considerably better - more airy and we didn't get woken up so early. The only downside was tepid shower.

I thought that this hotel was good value and definately prefered it the second time round. As long as you are happy with something basic it is a good option.
