“Next to impossible to leave”
Reviewed 17 February 2014

We spent, in total, 13 nights at Miss Margrit's. Everything that has been written is true and more. Cris, the owner, welcomes, engages with you and can put together any activity/tour you might want.. The people behind the scene, Veronica and Marta, who prepare your wonderful breakfast and clean your room are fabulous and always smiling. The rooms, we stayed in a few, are beautiful, comfortable and clean.The common areas in which you can sit are abundant and beautiful. The pool is a plus on a hot day. The location is great. It was hard to leave this fabulous B&B.

Room Tip: The Mirador room, which has a panoramic view of Granada is fabulous.

This is a great place, with two great courtyards and a picturesque pool. The rooms have high ceilings and beautiful wood floors with efficient and quiet air conditioning and an elegant bathroom with hot water showers which work. The room on the 3rd story has a panoramic view, but we couldn't complain about the view of the volcano and courtyard from our balcony. Chris, the owner from London, is friendly and always helpful with recommendations. Since there are only 8-10 rooms and most everyone tends to eat breakfast at the same time you can learn a lot from diverse travelers of various ages from many countries who have traveled to interesting places. A generous breakfast and hotel tax are included as is use of a local gym/spa/yoga center, so it is an even better deal than it appears online. (Most hotels in Nicaragua do not include the 17% tax in their quoted price) It is in a good neighborhood,about 5 blocks from the Parque Central, and walkable until later in the evening. Casa Xalteva, a good Spanish school, is 2 blocks away.

Not knowing what to expect for a B&B in the country of Nicaragua, the outside appearance gave us pause to enter but once you're through the front door, it really was like Paradise. One of the first things I noticed was 3 years of Trip Advisor's certificates ranking Miss Margrit's number 1 in Granada,hanging on the walls, but after 2 nights stay there, I could totally see why it's ranked so high. The recently added bedrooms in the back were gorgeous, with two-story high ceilings in the bathroom to allow the shower area be incorporated in a garden atmosphere, including a screened ceiling over the plants area. The breakfasts made to order by local women cooking them were delicious and the pool area was so beautiful and a welcome respite day and night, even in the month of January. I would really love to make an annual January trip to Nicaragua, but especially to stay at Miss Margrit's and see more of Granada.

Room Tip: Ask to stay in the new addition rooms in the back to enjoy the garden showers.

We booked this place knowing it was ranked number one in Granada Nicaragua, well it lived up to expectations. The host, Chris was charming and gave us a stress free visit to his charming B&B. When we got out of the taxi, we must admit being nervous about our surroundings, after all the exterior of most buildings in Grenada are deceiving. The door open and a literal little Shangri-la awaited us. The place is very charming, the people more so. Breakfast was more than we have been expecting here in Central America. The accommodations are modernized versions of the colonial charm that defines Granada.

Room Tip: A carefree attitude that sets a tone difficult to match anywhere else.

I stayed at Miss Margrit's with two girlfriends in January and it definitely lives up to its fantastic reviews - this place is perfect in every way. First, it is an absolutely charming building with spectacular views of the city, and in a super convenient location. The rooms are spacious and very very clean. Breakfast is amazing. Staff is super friendly and accommodating. Chris is beyond cool and very helpful - both before, during, and after our trip. As an added bonus, the guests who stay at Miss Margrit's are awesome too. We made lots of friends and met up with them at different points during our trip as well. You get way more than your money's worth staying here.

I cannot say enough positive things about this place. If you are visiting Granada, Miss Margrit's is the ONLY place you should stay. Hands down.

Beautifully built and designed, Chris and mum! No one of our group of ladies wanted to leave and I think they're all planning to be back for extended stays!

Lovely staff, stunning breakfasts, cool and calm respite from outside, comfortable beds, spacious verandas, great showers, awesome owner.

Thanks again, Chris. You made our stay fantastic. Only suggestion, any way you can build stairs up to a terrace over the suite so we can see the view of Granada at sunset? Wouldn't that be the piece de resistance! (-;

I had the privilege of staying at Miss Magrits in September of 2013. From start to finish the experience was lovely. First of all, upon entering you walk in to a beautifully restored colonial home with gorgeous gardens and a fountain in the first courtyard. You keep walking and there is the kitchen, dining area, and a small but absolutely stunning pool which is especially lovely at night, under the stars. The coolest thing about this area is that there are luxuriant gardens around the pool and next to the kitchen - imagine, having palm trees in your kitchen, how cool is that! The rooms are impeccable, with big super comfy beds, fans, a/c (though you didn't need it at night) and designer sinks. Everything in this house is wood - wood columns, wood banisters, wood furniture, so it gives the house and rooms an extremely warm and homey feel. The room I stayed in even had it's own little garden in the shower! Nice touches all around, organic shampoos and conditioners, nice big towels, all located in a very quiet and secure and safe neighborhood. The host, Chris, a young british lad who has lived in Granada for 8 years, was perfectly lovely, super helpful, outgoing but unobtrusive, and friendly and full of all the information one could possibly need about Granada - where to go and eat, and what to do. Seriously it was almost like staying at a friend's home, albeit a ridiculously nice one. Chris arranged airport transfers and a tour to Masaya volcano for a friend and I and overall just made everything easy and enjoyable. I've spent a lot of time in Costa Rica, Panama, Mexico, and Guatemala, and I could not imagine being able to get anything this nice in those places for such a low price. I could not recommend Miss Magrit's enough! The only problem is that the breakfasts included in your stay are so huge and delicious I gained a bit of weight during the week I was here :p. Oh well, it was worth it!

Room Tip: Get the mirador suite! you get full views all over Granada and amazing breezes!
