Description: Nectar Restaurant & Bar is located on Calle La Calzada, a pedestrian-friendly street in the heart of Granada's historic colonial downtown. Located only 1/2 block East (towards the Lake) of Parque Central & the main Cathedral, our street-side dining offers up the best people watching around while our beautiful covered courtyard provides some peaceful respite from Granada's hustle and bustle. We've got you covered for whatever mood your in. We delight in offering a menu featuring some traditional Nicaraguan fare (Enchiladas, Tostones con Queso, Ropa Vieja and more), wonderful organic salads, tasty ceviche, fish tacos, burritos & homemade desserts, including Cheesecake, Flan de Coco and our world famous Lava Cake. ALL of our rum cocktails are made with Nicaraguan Flor de Cana rum, never the cheap stuff. We also offer up some local Craft Beer, made available by our friends at La Portena in San Juan Del Sur as well as Campo Brew Co. out of Tola. We source all our products locally and shop daily to ensure we have the freshest of the fresh. And perhaps most importantly, our staff is the real thing-- warm, friendly, and genuinely caring. Hard-working Nicaraguan hospitality at its very best! Be sure to check out our 2x1 Happy Hour from 3-6 Daily or stop by and enjoy our below zero beer. Perfect for those hot Granada days!

“Good food...but beware”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 11 June 2014

I am from the states and was down there for a medical mission. The owner is American and he runs it like a business. Be prepared to over-pay for decent food and get gouged on taxes and tip. My 180 C$ meal ended up costing me 350 C$ with a coke. I would beware, there are much better places down the street! This place has potential, just needs to be more professional and lower their prices. Also, letting in street beggars that won't leave you alone in the private room in the back, is just sad.

“Great food, nice environment”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 31 May 2014

Now run by the same couple who own Bocadillos. Everything is today fresh. They pride themselves on their eclectic menu. From tasty chicken, pork and beef dishes and fresh salads and nachos and panini. My favorites were the Goat Cheese Tower, at 80 cordobas ($3.20) is excellent: local artisan goat cheese with red bell pepper salsa and toasted bread. The Beef Filet with Mushroom Sauce, and the Baba Ghanoush. Excellent bar selection. They have 25-year old Flor de Cana rum that you can smell the second the open the bottle.
Gets a bit noisy at times out on the busy Calle La Calzada, but great for sitting outside and watching the crowds drift by. Gotta visit this place at least once or twice while in Granada. Oh, the deserts are pretty damn good too.

My husband and I ate here for lunch. He had fish tacos and I had a panini sandwich served with the most delicious plantain chips.

“Great food, cold drinks and centralized location”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 May 2014

Came to check out Nectar on a recco from some friends, and it did not disappoint. Great location, in the middle of La Calzada.

Food was really good, beers were freezing cold (it was 95 degrees the afternoon we were there) and the vibe was really relaxed. A good mixture of locals and ex pats/foreigners enjoying Nectar. Seating right out front on the Calzada or in the back garden area (as well as inside seating).

My wife and I love Granada and we are happy that we are now in the know of another great spot to hang. We will be back.
