“High quality restaurant in Granada”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 May 2014

Went there at a friend's recommendation but without any expectations. I got astounded by this beautiful spot. Cozy outdoor area and a pretty cool bar/lounge. The service was very friendly and attentive and they do speak English. I ordered the beef ($10), tasted excellent! The price was above average of Nicaragua, but compared to a high class restaurant in Germany totally affordable. You have to check out Flan de Coco ($2) as dessert and the cocktails. Best Caipirinha I had in Granada!

“Plato del dia”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 May 2014

I have eaten here twice, first time January 2014, second April 2014. I heard about it from some expats living in Granada. We had the $10 meal of the day both times. They were both fish and both excellent. The $10 included a fresh salad, entre with steamed vegetables and potatoes, a small flan for dessert, tax and tip. We topped off the tip for attentive service. The hotel with this restaurant looks very nice. We were able to see one of the rooms and it was impressive. Would consider staying there.

“over salted”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 April 2014 via mobile

Everything we ordered was over salted. The rock shrimp appetizer especially. Service was good, but food was a huge disappointment. We really liked the restaurant and garden but they really need to replace their chef.

“A great deal just off the beaten path”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 April 2014

I had heard about this restaurant from a Facebook note by one of my daughter's friends. We were in Granda and on our own for rthe evening. Staying at our favorite hotel Plaza Colon (see my review). The Bistro is just two blocks away from the central plaza. The entrance in unimpressive but the menu provides a myraid of local and continental choices. Not just std Nica comfort food. Judy and I had the nightly special which was a fine salad and a gorgeous steak with rice and delicately parboiled vegetables. The dessert was an very unusual tasting flan. All(including tip[ and tx for $10. Each night there is a similar special. The choice from the general menu is great but to get a thick juicy tender piece of steak was unexpected. The price special make it a requirement to write this review.

“Delicious plato del día!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 March 2014

Stopped into Bistro Estrada based on its proximity to our hotel and the Parque Central and all of the positive reviews. For Nicaragua, the prices were expensive, but as we were being seated we walked by a large table and all of their food looked delicious! We decided on the plato del día, which for $10 was a ton of food and quite good. Upon arrival the service was promising, but after being led outside to a table far away we were quickly forgotten. We had two waiters, which may have explained some confusion, but we had to order drinks twice and it took forever for someone to come over and turn on the fan above us. Even at night it is extremely hot! Better to bring a sweater and sit inside in the AC where you'll be close to the bar and servers and won't overheat!
