“Very nice hotel”
Reviewed 29 February 2012

We stayed at the Hotel Colonial during my trip to Granada, Nicaragua. It's a very nice hotel which is located in the very center of Granada. So when you stepped out of the hotel you had the civilization and a lot of attractions near you.
What caught my attention from the first second was the very beautiful patio with a little swimming pool! There you found a red-painted wall, plants, stone-figures and a little pool-bar. So we really enjoyed swimming and relaxing there.
The room was also very big and in the colonial style with very comfortable beds and a nice shower. Unfortunately, the rooms are dark, so you have to turn on a lot of lights!
The breakfast was also very good, but I, personally, missed a buffet which would've been great.
If you don't have a laptop with you, there are 2 computers with internet!

Stayed at the Hotel Colonial for 3 nights over Christmas. Staff were great right from check in to drop off at the airport.

Hotel was charming, colourful, clean and in a great location for exploring Granada on foot.

I didn't try the restaurant, though breakfast was included, I opted to explore restaurants in the city instead. I did use the pool, and it was a great way to chill out in the afternoon after a day out sightseeing in the heat.

Staff arranged two great, reasonably priced trips for me, on boxing day, to Volcan Masaya and then after a siesta a boat tour of the Isletas, both great trips, with a private driver and guide. I also used their shuttle service to the airport, I had an early flight and their service ended up cheaper than any I tried to book on my own, and given I had to leave the hotel at 4:30am, it just seemed safer to travel with a staff member I was used to, in a new, air con van.

Great service and would recommend to anyone travelling to Granada. You can't beat the price for what you get!

I spent 10 nights at this beautiful hotel in Feb. 2012. It was kept incredibly clean. It didn't know what colonial was, but there were 2 courtyards with a gorgeous pool in each. One had a beautiful tree with reddish, violet flowers and an open bar. It's really the hard working staff that won my heart. Special thanks to Laura and Elizabeth, who both spoke fluent English. I will return to Granada. I will stay here again because the staff won my heart, and I miss them.

Room Tip: Ask for a room in the middle or rear. Different rooms for different budgets.

Finally got into Granada nicaragua, stayed at hotel colonial, located in the heart center.the hotel has a colonial atmosphere, patterned floor tiles, colorful walls inside and outside the room, it has two floors,A small swimming pool, a restaurant and a bar.the room is big enough but some plugs need to repair, lot of details everywhere.the receptionist is attentive and helpful.
But the wi fi can only available in the lobby or pool area ,may be my room is too far from the reception.overall, with this price level, you don't complaint too much.

The Hotel Colonial is a fantastic oasis in the heart of Granada - a wonderful, clean boutique hotel with a great atmosphere. A place to relax and to feel home. Owner - Etienne - is very helpful and very friendly as well as his staff. This hotel can be highly recommended and we will definitively be back whenever we are in Granada!

Room Tip: Ask for different rooms - they have nice family rooms that fit perfectly for a group of friends, too...

We really enjoyed staying at this hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful. It was a great location for us. The room was clean. Water pressure in the shower wasn't great but overall not too bad. Loved the included breakfast, which was always delicious and we took advantage of the pool side bar a few times.

We, a family of 4 (two kids ages 14 and 12) stayed here and enjoyed everything about this hotel. The location is perfect, the hotel is kept beautifully and is clean. Uur room was very spacious, quiet and overall the hotel is just beautiful. The pool and area around the pool is very refreshing, the garden area is kept up very nicely. The staff were helpful and friendly. We got advise on places around town, and places to eat. We had one morning when we didn't have hot water, we spoke to the front desk, and there was no problem after that. They handled it without a stitch!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and would return and/or recommend highly.

Room Tip: We stayed in a large room upstairs, that had a large loft. The kids were up in the loft (each in the...
