Stayed at the Hotel Colonial last summer for a week and it was amazing. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the owners went above and beyond to make our experience superb. I can highly recommend that your stay here will make your visit to Nicaragua that much better.

This was my first trip to Nicaragua and I must say that staying at "The Colonial," was one of the highlights of my trip. The staff were beyond exceptional and I loved the quiet and peaceful space around the corner from the central square. I cannot wait to return again next year.

This place was amazing! Very well managed, up to date, and yet still has old school charm. Everyone was very professional and friendly, the bartender Claudia was especially awesome. The pools and flowers everywhere made the court yards seem even bigger than they where. This hotel sets the example.

The flowers, pools, and architecture in this hotel made it a lovely place to enjoy Granada. It sooo close to the Central Plaza and the beautiful yellow cathedral, too. The staff was very nice; I'd definitely stay here again.

We spent two nights at Hotel Colonial in late February. The hotel is small and centrally located. Even though it is adjacent to the busy Central Plaza, we were never bothered by traffic noise inside the hotel. The staff was extremely helpful and the breakfast was excellent. The hotel has an open floor plan with lots of fresh air. Our room was excellent. The bathroom and shower were great. Plenty of hot water and the best air conditioning we had while in Nicaragua. In late February and ealy March, good air conditioning is a real plus. The only negative was the pillows, but that is a universal negative. It is hard to pack a pillow when travelling light and compact, but it may be worth the extra luggage.

The tourist area of central Granada is still being renovated. So far, it still has a small colonial town feel and a lot of charm. We did little in town other than walk around, eat and drink a few Tonas. Had a great time and very good food.

We loved the looks of this place. It was lovely, the pools were fun to relax in and the staff was friendly. The only down side was the old scool mattress we had. It was very firm with springs poking us. We would stay here again but would ask for a new bed. We only spent one night and left before breakfast.

dDear "witchiewoman"

Thank for your comment and your information about the bed. We did check your room and had to realize that you where right. The concerning mattress is quiet new (2 years) but had a construction default. We did just change it today against a new one. Sorry about your inconvenience.

We are very much looking forward seeing you one day at Hotel Colonial. Be always welcome

We had three nights here at the beginning of our trip and found it charming. We were in a deluxe room which was huge and very comfortable. Breakfast delicious and freshly cooked to order. Nice little pool in flowery courtyard. Granada is a very attractive colonial town, and the lake trip delightful - go early when not too hot.
