An absolutely beautiful hotel located in central area. Staff were all very helpful and very kind, even to those of us who fumbled clumsily through trying to communicate in Spanish (though, thankfully, some staff did speak English so when we messed up really badly we could at least say it in English and they knew what we meant...). The rooms were very large, clean and very well maintained. Our shower even had a huge mural in it! The pool and living space outside the room was plentiful and comfortable, and we were made to feel totally at home hanging out there. Overall my 3 friends and I had a great experience, and we will definitely stay there again when we go back to Granada!

I checked out several hotels in Granada and the Hotel Casa del Consulado is as good as it gets.
I was there off-season in July and at $55/night for what you get it's got to be the best value I've ever experienced. I was there in July, off-season and had the place almost entirely to myself. It was a very peaceful stay.

It's a boutique hotel, an exquisite renovation of a typical colonial Granada house, well located about two blocks from Central Park. The hotel has about nine rooms on two levels and I stayed in a room by the pool downstairs. It's an absolutely beautiful hotel, with the walls painted in blue and red, a large swimming pool with direct sunlight most of the day and a tropical garden with a fountain in the center. The hotel even has a mini-movie theaters that you can screen DVD's on a large screen at night and a patch of grass that you can lay down on and get some sun in the morning hours.

The rooms have high ceilings, with a/c and a ceiling fan and a TV with DVD. The bathroom is really amazing. It has a glass brick blocks to let diffused light in, a ceiling that goes up two stories to a sky light, a hand painted mural and a pebble inlaid floor. And lots of hot water. In New York City, where I live, a hotel like this would rank with the best five star hotels in the city and cost at least $600. This is truly why I love to stay in boutique hotels.

Great breakfast included in the price and the staff is great and English speaking. What can I say. Granada has lots of nice traditional colonial hotels but this hotel is on a whole other level. There is really nothing like it in Granada. By far the best and best value.

It's hard to say that hotel has any shortcomings. Maybe just that there are no hammocks on the ground floor and the Wi-Fi in the room could have been better. That's about it.

Beautiful hotel tucked in a narrow street near the center of town. Large, quiet rooms wrap around lush courtyards with good a/c and modern bathrooms. Be sure to get a massage at the clean and tasteful Dream Spa in the hotel.

The location is great! It's only 2 blocks from the central park which is perfect because if it was closer than it would be loud and you'd hear honking cars. Oddly enough, we were the ONLY guests staying in the hotel! This made it even quieter and more relaxed. The hotel has 2 nice courtyards and the hotel is really pretty.

Our room is very large! We were nervous it wouldn't cool down because it's so large and air conditioning is this part of the world can be sketchy, but the air conditioning was awesome!! The pool is nice and all the staff are very kind. The TV is very nice in the room. The breakfast was good, although there were no fried plantains in one of the dishes when there should have been.

I gave it 4 stars because the shower virtually stopped working one day. Only little dribbles of water came out. One day was alright but weak water pressure and the next day hardly worked. We had a lot of mosquitoes in our room and got bit a lot. Hotels can have some control over this by setting up mosquito traps or spraying.

I stayed in Casa Consuado for over a month at the Masaya suite. It was a wonderful stay! The room is big and the bathroom a dream with beautiful views over la Merced. Serene nights at the balcony hammocks and late laps at the very private swimming pool; all this just steps away from the main square and the Calzada area. It was my home and my family in Granada (both owners, staff and my sweet Canadian neighbouring guests), can't wait to go back to be so well taken care once again.

Room Tip: All are big and nice, very quiet.
