“Very good option on the busy Calle La Calzada”
Reviewed 5 March 2014

We ate at quite a few restaurants on La Calzada, but this was one of our favorites. We ate during happy hour (2 for 1 drinks and discounted meal)...the service was above average, drinks were good and strong, and the steak and the garlic octopus we ordered were both very tasty! We would definitely go back to eat here again in the future.

“The quality does not match the prices”
Reviewed 21 February 2014

So we all know that eating on the Calle Calzada is expensive, with a main meal usually costing 250 cordobas upwards, which by Nicaraguan standards is very top-range. So for these prices, one does hope for very good quality food. Sadly, at Toritos, the food quality did not live up to this. There was nothing wrong with the food, (I ordered mar y tierra), but it was nothing special, and I did not feel it justified the price.

I really hope places like Toritos take this seriously, and aim for high-quality to match their prices, and do not just become restaurants aimed at mass tourism on Granada's busiest street, which do not concern themselves in providing the highest quality possible.

“Very disappointed”
Reviewed 16 February 2014

We brought a group here because of the reviews and it was easily the worst meal we had on our entire trip to Nicaragua. A couple of our group ordered the filet and whatever was served was definitely not filet. My seafood dish was overcooked and the sauce was gummy and unappetizing. There are so many good food options in Granada that this is an easy place to avoid.

“Excellent paella!”
Reviewed 17 December 2013 via mobile

Just stopped in for an early dinner. Excellent paella for two for $20 US. A lot more seafood than rice! Good sangria and a wonderful salad. Recommended.

“One of the best food places on the calzada”
Reviewed 10 December 2013

Worth pushing past all the other restaurant and cafe staff pushing menus in your face to get to Toritos. Great happy hour and 2 for 1 drinks and often has 10% deal off the main courses. The prawns were spectacular and well worth price as was the steak which one of our group had. Great to watch the world go by as well and be slightly away from the main noise higher up the calzada.
