The convent is definitely worth a stop, just to see the Pre-Columbian statues with bird and animal carvings that were discovered nearby on Zapatera Island. There is also a nice collection of ancient ceramics along with a wonderful collection of paintings from the Solentiname Islands that are done in that distinctive, primitive style for which the islanders are famous. From the steps of the convent there is a nice view of Granada with Volcan Mombacho towering in the distance.
A good choice for lunch or dinner is El Garaje which is located behind the convent on Calle Coralles, just a short walk down from the corner.
