I cant say enough about this wonderful place and the staff were so helpful and warm and friendly. I think the USA could learn alott at this place as they took care of all our needs. Coming with next to O language skills they helped me with Taxi and any place I wanted to go with safety. Even got hooked up with a Dentist that I plan on coming in May to take care of dental issues. Thanks Melisa! Terry the owner was probly the nicest and very caring owner. Thanks Terry and all staff. The food was to die for 5 star all the way. Cant wait to go back ! Coming from Montana and to expierence this first class place was something I will never forget.
Thank you so much Chyral berney Whitefish Montana

The staff at the Casa San Francisco were excellent! Each person there was friendly, willing to help with any and all of our needs. They provided restaurant, transportation, sightseeing, and safety recommendations. The staff also helped us with our Spanish and even helped us find a guide to the nearby Puebla Blancos and volcano. The gardens and pool was wonderful and relaxing. Our room was beautiful and inviting. Clean, near the center of town, safe. They make a great mojito also! The entire staff came out to wish us well as we were leaving! I highly recommend both Casa San Francisco and Granada as excellent locations!

Room Tip: All the rooms are great but I'd pick one of the ones with a balcony. The rooms by the pool are...

Hotel San Fran is a sanctuary in itself. If you want a well priced secure hotel that is clean and where you feel at home, than Hotel San Fran is where you want to be! The staff are warm and very accomodating. The only thing that I caution you on is DONT TOUCH THE SHOWER HEADS- they use electrical flow through water heater that emits an electrical charge when grounded.

Food is delicious with a touch of Americano and local typical Nic quisine.

The grounds are well kept with a wonderful pool to match.

One of the San Fran's best kept secrets is Geovanny Sunsin. Geovanny is a local "Metis" who has never left the borders of Nicaragua. His knowledge of Granada and the local area is a must for anyone to take advantage of. Geo is a fully certified tour guide that is well versed in not only the local history, but also both Native and Spanish culture. Whatever you want to experience you will with Geo- just name it!

I strongly recommend the tour up the Hell's Mouth- the hike up the Volcanoe is challenging, but is well woth the view. There are only seven Hell Mouth's in the world- this is likely the only chance that you will see one if you are not a world traveler. Bring hiking shoes!

Geo also took us for Horse Back ride down the Crater on The Lake. The hiking trail is actually where the only railway layed prior to Peru buying the rail system in the mid 90's. It is not well maintained and is not for the weak at heart!

We also visited a traditional potter school. The showed us the time honoured tradition of pottery handed down from generation to generation.

One of the best trips ever- Geo & San Fran only made it better!

Casa San Francisco is one of the warmest and friendliest hotels in Nicaragua. Close enough to enjoy the happening and fun part of Granada (about a block away) but far enough to enjoy peace and quiet in a relaxed and beautiful atmosphere. A friend and I went there for two nights and were treated like family. By the end of our stay we knew everyone’s name and enjoyed our experience. Our highlight of the trip was our tours with Geovanny, who runs a tour guide service from the hotel. Geovanny is knowledgeable and friendly, with the ability to fit in all the exciting things to do in Grenada and the surrounding area into a one day awesome experience. Staying at Casa San Francisco and a tour with Giovanny are must do’s in Nicaragua.

All round excellent. Lovely location, beautiful decor and garden. Refreshing pool. Solidly good restaurant if not really exceptional. Very nice and helpful staff. I would like to pick one out but the fact is they were all excellent and to pick a favourite employee would be unfair as well as impossible.

We recently stayed at this quaint hotel and loved it. The rooms are not spacious but adequate. The staff exceeded any expectation we had. The tours offered by the staff were excellent. A drink out front is a must, watching the action is highly amusing (never know what is coming down the street). The restaurant is excellent and provides varied cuisine. The most impressive thing about this hotel is the caring staff. My husband required an emergency root canal, they made all the arrangements - including an English speaking driver to help with any required translation. We will be back again and would not hesitate to recommend it to family or friends!

When I returned to Granada the third time, I was with my girlfriend, so we stayed at a much nicer place. Casa San Francisco is in a quiet neighborhood very close to the city center -- the perfect location. The staff is helpful and kind and the atmosphere is superb. The courtyard garden is breathtaking and the rooms are comfortable and simple. It is definitely expensive by Nica standards but well worth the splurge. They are recommended by Moon guidebooks and take full advantage of it by raising their prices and having the books for sale in their expensive gift section. They helped us to arrange a kayaking trip through Las Islitas that was fabulous.
