We stayed for 3 nights as the first stop on our recent holiday. We had an upstairs room with a great view of the square but but it was noisy.A combination of traffic, firecrackers (we caught the back end of a festival in December)and the church bells ringing approximately 50 times at 6am wew the problem. With hindsight we should have requested a room at the back of the hotel.Breakfast was adequate ,we did not eat other meals in the hotel. The location is good as you're right in the cente and if you want a ride in a horse and carriage they are outside your front door.

Room Tip: Upstairs rooms overlooking the square offer a good view but are noisy .Light sleepers should ask for...

Such a relief to stay in a decent hotel like this as part of a budget tour!
Charming. Clean. Colonial character. Lovely. Relaxing.

Small shallow pool.... Not really worth getting wet for! Breakfast very basic. .. Go somewhere else!

Stayed here for 2 nights a few weeks ago. The room was clean spacious and well equiped. The bed was really comfy and shower was one of the best in central america. I had a room on the front with a balcony which at first seemed great but the noise from the Claro shop across the square was pumping all day and the french doors were anything but sound proof. The hotel shuts up at 10pm so even getting a glass of wine was tricky. The house red wine was also one of the best I had in central america and not bad value given the location. There's a pool but we were unable to use it as the floor all around was sticky with wet paint.

Room Tip: Don't pay extra for a room at the front as it's noisy

Set right in the heart of Grenada just across from the main square, all rooms have balconies but only some have decent a/c and fridges and it seems a bit random as to what room you get. Be wary of having a courtyard room as the cats in the garden and fountain will keep you awake. Third floor rooms have no elevator and the last staircase is rather narrow making carrying luggage difficult. Pool is tiny and more suitable for children under 8 than anyone else. But the atmosphere and location make it well worth the price

Room Tip: Ask for lower floor and not over main square or courtyard

Hotel is mediocre, rooms are very old, cable TV is fuzzy viewing. Poor electric outlets. Not renovated in long time, not painted.
Room 107 smell very bad, poor sewage system.
We payed 75 dollars for this hotel breakfast not included, and 30 steps away on the same street, there is the Hotel Plaza Colon, the cost is 115 dollars with breakfast included and is awesome.
Cheap but not very nice.

Room Tip: The room and hotel were very clean, the personal is very sweet and they try hard to accommodate your...

The first impression is great, with the open courtyard lobby and rocking chairs on the front porch, location right on the main square. the room selection is quite variable, some have no external window and balcony, others have cute little ports looking onto the lobby. there is no pool (well - a tiny thing that no one would swim in) or gym, or bar or restaurant or business center. No minibar. No coffee /tea pot. no ironing board, bottled water in the room. The overall room decor is spare, almost like a monastery, with white stucco walls and heavy dark wooden furniture, beams on the ceiling. AC worked great. Shower had good pressure and lots of hot water. A good safe was in the closet. a pitcher and glasses were provided to get water from dispenser in the hall, but this was not explained at check in and there is no information of any kind in the room. i was able to buy water from the european cafe around the corner. The TV has decent channels and it was large flat screen. There is a cafe on the main floor that serves meals - but it's pretty simple. Opens at 7 am. The nice thing is to be able to go straight out to the main square in the morning and walk around, easy to get to the restaurant/bar street, etc. For the money, it was comfortable but don't expect all of the normal international hotel amenities.

Room Tip: try for a window facing toward the square, higher floor

Our room was good as was the hotel’s location right on the plaza, one block from the bus stop from Managua, and one block from the restaurants around La Calzada. It’s main flaws were (1) no elevator and we were two flights up and (2) no food or drink service after 9 pm. Otherwise, it was a nice place, with a nice lobby with old artifacts and a pool, which we never saw anyone use. It’s a charming old-fashioned hotel, with a beautiful veranda overlooking the plaza and across from the cathedral. We’d stay there again if we could be assured of a first or second floor room.

Room Tip: Unless you're very physically fit and don't mind climbing two flights of stairs several time...
