Dear James,

Thank you very much for your comments and I'm happy to hear that you not only enjoyed Granada, but also our rooms, location and were pleased with our Staff, they work hard everyday and fortunately they enjoy what they do a lot!!

Guests' feedback is precious to us, so if you would be so kind to send me specific comments about why your experience with our breakfast fell short, I would be so grateful. We use local produce only (except for bacon, cheddar cheese, raisins and almonds, which are not produced locally), everything but the bread is made fresh in house (we buy fresh bread from the local bakery), the eggs and chia seeds served are 100% organic and come from an NGO that provides technical education in organic agriculture to Granadino high school students (they have the school too!). We do try our best every time but also realize that perfection in our industry can be achieved only in the follow up with feedback from our clients. When we miss the target (100% GREAT) we always try to do service-repair immediately.

Thank you again and I appreciate in advance your valuable input!

Love the Plaza Colon. Only problem is it will spoil you for everywhere else you'll ever stay! It just won't be as nice, have as much character, or have as heartwarming and caring staff. We cannot wait to stay again, it's just So beautiful! And yes will be the best place you'll ever stay for $100.

This must be the fourth time Judy and I have stayed at Plaza Colon. We were overwhelmed 5 years ago. We have dragged our daughter and spouse there and now our super good friends from California. The exterior is fine but once you cross the threshold the surprise of a life time awaits. Inside the small lobby is a center area with a nice pool for dipping. The rooms we have stayed at have all been on the second floor. Once short flight of stairs to giant doors that open into a lovely spacious well appointed bedroom. The bathrooms in this converted home are a bit small but they do the job. Our room opened up to a balcony overlooking the square. In the morning we watched vendors and actors set up and in the evening put away their wares. One evening we sat and simply watched the myriad faces of humanity do their thing. I bottle of Flora de Cana & didn't hurt.

Breakfast each AM was buffet one day and served another. The choices and quality were superior. The service and attention to detail and comfort just right.

I spent 5 nights at the Hotel plaza Colon. Every member of the staff was extremely friendly and extremely efficient. The concierge, Virginia, was fantastic. She efficiently arranged so many tours and rides for me and her advice was invaluable. She patiently answered the many questions I asked her every day. The breakfast buffet was excellent. The hotel is perfectly located on the edge of the main plaza. My room,#201 was very large, clean and comfortable. It only had small windows that opened above the interior courtyard of the hotel. That aside, the room was fantastic.

I would definitely stay at the Plaza Colon again and I highly recommend it.

We spent the first two nights of a wonderful week in Nicaragua in this lovely hotel and city. They arranged for a driver to pick us up ($45) at the airport and it was a pleasant 50m ride to the hotel. The drive spoke perfect English and was very informed about the area. On arriving at the hotel the hotel the staff was welcoming and very efficient. The hotel is in a calm, tranquil place with a warm feeling. The snacks and drinks we had were all very good and well priced. The town of Granada and the square is spread out right in front of the hotel and made for great people watching. The horse and buggy rides are also right in front and they can be persistent but took no for an answer very well. Everyone we met in Granada was very kind and welcoming.

The room we had was down by the pool and was great, wonderful big bed, very comfortable high quality bedding and spotless.
I would recommend the hotel to any one staying in Granada. We went off to Hacienda Puerta Del Cielo Eco Spa, after our two days here and had a outstanding say there. I really must say that Nicaragua offers way more then you expect and I will be back!

Room Tip: I was told that the rooms facing the square could be noisy at night, our room 107 was quite and comf...

Stayed here for 3 nights with family and greatly enjoyed trip. The location can't be beat (right on the square) and the rooms were excellent. The rooms were well appointed, comfortable and we loved the large balcony facing the parque central. Courtyard and pool are pretty and surprisingly quiet, even though its in the middle of the city. Breakfast is excellent: The food is great and the service is also top notch.

We also appreciated Virginia's (Concierge/Guest Services) help in arranging a tour of the city (and isletas), going zip lining on Mombacho as well as arranging a tour of Masaya volcano and the some of the surrounding towns (the "Classico tour"). Our tour guide for the Classico was Carlos. Carlos also picked us up at MGA on our first night......highly recommend him.

I can't wait to go back.

Room Tip: The rooms facing the square have a huge balcony that faces the park/cathedral. It is very cool and v...
