Moved to this hotel for our last night in Granada from cute La Islita boutique hotel around the corner. La Pergola was neat and clean, and the air conditioning worked well, but the room was small. The central courtyard helped make it look inviting, and it was centrally located to the plaza and restaurants. They often kept the gate to the lobby locked, not sure if that was for safety or what, but we did feel safe.

We got only "luke cold" water in the shower... but it was very hot, so that didn't bother as much as it might have. Had to sit in the courtyard for wifi to work. Breakfast was a bit disappointing compared to others we had at similarly priced hotels in El Salvador and Nicaragua... only continental, though you could order eggs and gallo pinto as extras. We had to work at getting coffee. The little rooftop terrace no longer has a view of the Cathedral as there is a new building going up that blocks it... and trees blocked most of Mombacho volcano when we were there. Still it is a decent basic hotel option for the price.

This is a simple, reasonably priced option centrally located in Granada. Clean rooms, pretty courtyard, small rooftop patio. Staff were helpful in providing directions.

Downsides: breakfast - toast with some sort of rock-hard buttery substance and coloured sugar-water which passed for juice. Wifi didn't work well inside the room. A group of American tourists decided to have full volume conversations in the courtyard starting at 6.30 am, which while it wasn't the fault of the hotel, I think they should have 'shushed' them. Also, beds were advertised as orthopedic - while our mattress had 'semi-orthopedic' written on it (whatever that means), we didn't notice that the mattress was any different than average.

We found much better value for our money at the #1 tripadvisor rated hotel in Granada (though at 50% more cost), which we moved to after two days at the Pergola.

This hotel is very nice for the price. The room was very clean and furnished. I had A/C and a ceiling fan, private bathroom. The courtyard is very nice and comfortable for relaxing. I paid the extra couple of dollars for a Americano breakfast that was good. The staff was very helpful and friendly. will stay here again. If they had a pool it would be one of the best hotels in town. Teir location is great just a block from the main road with all the outdoor places to eat in the evening. The cetral park is 3 blocks away...

Very convenient location and nice appearance on the outside lured me in to take a better look at Hotel La Pergola. It's at the end of a road that is widely *considered* the pedestrian road because most of the time it is blocked off to motorized vehicle traffic. there are many restaurants on this road with outdoor seating here where I spent much of my time over a 3 day span. This pedestrian road is a very brief 5 minute walk to the market square and cathedral. Bottom line is that you're right where you want to be location-wise if you stay at Hotel La Pergola.

The guy at the front desk was cool but is well aware of the good value of this hotel so negotiating price here is only going to cost you time and not save you any money. He was very helpful in showing the room and the **secured parking lot**.

Solid Wifi connection and breakfast was cheap and delicious. **The free continental is just toast and coffee but the jam is fantastic. Got the fruit for like $1.50 and it was HUGE and very filling.**

Wasn't the most or least expensive place I stayed in Nicaragua. the AC was great, the shower could have been a little better as far as hot water goes, and the rooms were very clean with TV.

A few blocks from the cathedral, this new hotel has very clean rooms, large showers, and comfortable beds. They have rooms for up to six people and the price are OK; we paid 60 for four people just before Christmas. The continental breakfast is thin but you always have the Garden Cafe!

La Pergola is a nice little hotel just one block from Granada's main drag, but far enough away to be quite. Nice rooms for the money you pay. Beautiful shady courtyard with WiFi and nice rocking chairs to lounge in. The included "continental" breakfast is skimpy, but for only 2 extra USD you can get a very nice breakfast oprions, especially the Nicaraguan breakfast. The staff is extremely nice and helpful. Secure parking is available - great if you have a rental car. Noticed that not all rooms have the same beds/mattresses, which may explain the divergent views on trip advisor about the mattress quality. We were happy with ours (room 2).

The rooms at Hotel La Pergola are simple and basic but you get all you could ask for: clean, AC, ceiling fan, free WIFI, TV, private bathroom, & continental breakfast for a good price (we paid $40/night for a double bed). You can get more to eat at breakfast but of course, you must pay a little more.

You can't beat the location - just one block from La Calzada where all the restaurants and bars are. The only thing is that local bums hang out across the street which can't be helped. They are harmless and there is security in front of the hotel at night. The receptionists are nice and accommodating. Not sure if they speak English.

The courtyard is pretty. Unfortunately there is no pool to soak in after a hot day which is the only thing missing. If you don't need all the frills, this place is for you!
