Historical and very beautiful hotel placed few hundred meters from the ski area in Bad Gastein. The service is excellent and the breakfast contains everything you could ask for.
There is a swimmingpool, Jacuzzi and sauna in the spa area and there are only 50 meters to the best afterski place in town “Silver Bullet” and a nice restaurant “The Gatz” where you get nice tappas.

The hotel was truly excellent, trust me I'm a difficult customer.

Excellent staff and facalities.

Beautiful.

I even made the mistake of leaving my travel wallet in reception on the last day when I checked out with my passport and hundreds of pounds of cash inside. The wonderfully honest receptionist quickly realised it was mine and brought it down two flights of stairr and delivered it to me all in tact at my breakfast table.

Fantastic place, wonderful food, people, facilities and entertainment. I will 100% return.

We have stayed in Bad Gastein several times and always wanted to stay at the Salzburgerhof Hotel. We paid a little extra for a bigger room and were not disappointed. Large balcony with fantastic view over the valley. Lots of storage space and a good size bathroom with bath and separate shower.
The hotel is spread over 2 buildings with a walkway connecting them. Our room was on 4th floor but you needed to get to 7th floor first to get to the walkway to the other building. There is a lift on both sides but not ideal for anyone with walking difficulties.
The food was fairly traditional. Five courses: salad buffet, soup, choice of fish, meat or vegetarian dish, cheese and dessert. The salad buffet was plentiful and had a really good choice. It would be enough for a light meal if you don't fancy the main course.
Breakfast had usual continental selection, cooked breakfast (not always hot enough) and sometimes pancakes and waffles.
The restaurant staff were very friendly and efficient. The only negative was the tables were very close together which made getting in and out of your chair awkward.
There is a hot tub and swimming pool which is small but good enough to stretch out and ease your aching ski legs. There is a much bigger hot tub in the gym area along with heated beds, saunas and quiet area.
The hotel is really central. Very close to lift, train station, taxi rank, Felsentherm Spa, restaurants and bars.
All in all a lovely, clean hotel with friendly, professional staff, comfortable rooms and good facilities.

You get what you pay for, that is almost always true. Rooms are ok, some have really nice views. Try to get one of those if you stay here. Spas are ok, pools are ok. Food is ok and so. Most of the staff is really nice though,
