I have been to Domme a number of times and not tried this cave…(Grotte) however when there was a sudden shower last weekend we bought a ticket and ventured inside and I was amazed at how good the place was. It’s not the best in the region, but well worth a visit. the guide spoke reasonable english and grotto was much longer than I imagined.

We visited this with our two 12-year old boys. Very interesting, but French-only commentary. If you don't speak French be sure to pick up a brochure at the entrance. The entrance is a bit hard to find, in a building that is being renovated at the moment in the center of the town square, in front of the Town Hall. Very impressive stalactites, stalagmites and other structures. Be sure to walk along the cliffs to get back to town after the visit. Beautiful views of the river!

Grotte de domme was quite spectacular in the centre of town. However be aware the tour is in French only,so you need a smattering if you want to understand any of the facts, but that said it's still quite amazing, especially where you exit, on the elevator in the rock.

I visited the cave with my family (wife and two kids, and 6 and 8). We purchased tickets at the tourist office in the morning for entry a little later. We had some time before the visit so we took the little train on a tour around the town first.

As for the cave, it was beautiful. The rock formations were stunning and the whole experience was a lot of fun. The cave was much bigger than I expected and we exited at one end of town and walked a short distance back.

Domme is a beautiful little town and the shops, market, train, and cave made for a wonderful morning with the family.
