“Best bed & breakfast my family has ever stayed at”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 July 2013

This was the most superb B&B my family has ever had the great fortune of visiting. First the accommodations: quiet, clean, very well-appointed rooms (one for us parents and a connecting one for our two daughters who thought they were royalty staying in this palatial manor) made for excellent sleeping conditions. Not that we wanted to stay inside for too long because the grounds are magnificent: views of the nearby town and River Dordogne were breathtaking. Flora-paved paths through the stoney estate made for peaceful nature hikes that allowed my family to enjoy the labors of the owners who are true garden masters. The pool wasn't bad either! We adults enjoyed a picnic dinner amongst the variety of table/seating configurations while the children frolicked in the pool. Then there are the owners: lovely, warm individuals who were a delight to engage with. Despite our language differences, we were able to communicate in our best attempts with enjoyable results and lots of laughter. The breakfast was a Moroccan-French fusion that blended the lady of the house's heritage into a meal that had us all saying over and over: "Wow, this is amazing!" Not only would we stay here again (and for much longer next time than our original two days), we would recommend this place to our friends who enjoy sophisticated beauty that is comfortable to all the senses...and all the family members.

Le Manoir is a reason itself to visit the Dordogne. Ouafaa and Daniel have created a beautiful, majestic, and comfortable inn. Each feature is carefully and tastefully created, rooms are large with antique furniture, bathrooms are large and updated. Breakfast is served in an elegant dining room with a wide range of pastries, fresh fruit, omelets and crepes cooked to order, cheeses, etc. Ouafaa and Daniel are congenial innkeepers who are always available to assist with reservations, directions, suggestions for activities at all times of the day. The only reason not to stay here is because you have to end your vacation.

We spent 3 nights in this comfortable and beautiful manoir. Even though it's situated near a busy road, the windows block out any traffic noise. The bathroom was enormous though up a small flight of stairs. The colors, accents and décor are creative and well thought out. The setting is gorgeous, and the well-attended garden is a growing work of art. The proprietaries are welcoming and helpful, yet leave you feeling as it it's your home away from home. I enjoyed visiting with them both and appreciated sharing an apero in the garden with them. Plus, the manoir is conveniently located a short walk from the stunning village. It's an opportunity to stay in a very special place.

This place is a work of art. From the highly polished wood floors, to the elegant fabrics used for the window treatments, to the amazingly comfy beds and sheets. The gardens go on forever. And it is all painstakingly manicured by the owners Ouffa (Waka) and her husband Daniel. The story of how they purchased the property and decorated, and designed it themselves and all the remodel, Ihave the highest respect for them. Their absolute passion shows in ever tiny detail. They could easily get 2-3 times the money and it would still be worth it. If you do not stay here,I feel sorry for you. We have our 7 yr old girl with us and it was perfect for her. We have the Milandes room which overlooks the pool and river, she put the extra bed in and it was a real bed not a fold up. You can hear the fountain from the room while looking out at the river.
Breakfast is amazing, raspberries and strawberries picked that morning, homemade bread, jam, and omelets.
There are no less than 7 sitting areas throughout the property all beautifully set. Bring the mosquito spay, you are on the river
We could have stayed a whole week, cause it is nice to just stay and enjoy the property, sadly we had only 3 days, as I sit in the garden on a lounge watching my daughter swim, I am sad to have to leave here
BTW she had a huge group who comes every year just have to cancel 10 days in July, she has availability!!!!

We stayed here for 6 nights and found this B&B to be perfect for our needs. The previous reviews were very accurate.

The owners are exceptionally friendly and were also happy to book local restaurants each evening which was really useful. You can walk into La Roque Gageac in around 5 mins and there are two very good places to eat.

The breakfast consists of a very wide range of options including freshly baked cakes which are very tasty.

After a full days sightseeing, it was also great to relax in the beautiful garden (inc pool) where you could view the river and La Rocque.

Our room looked out onto the river and was huge with a very comfortable bed and large bathroom. All very clean.

In summary a perfect place to relax and we definately aim to return.

We stayed there for 2 night. The big stone building was amazing. Inside the rooms were nicely decorated. Very comfortable and relaxing. The owner was always busy maintaining the garden to make it wonderful. It's view over the Dordonge river was stunning. Sitting in the garden we felt we were in heaven. It was very close to the beautiful villages of La Rogue Gageac, Beynac, and the bigger town Sarlat. We had a wonderful base in which we explored the region with great convenience.

When we checked out, the owner gave us a surprise by offering us a coffee outside in the garden. It was only a simple coffee (if you need a big breakfast you can always pay for a proper one in the dining room) but in such a nice environment we thought we didn't need anything else.

Be sure to ask for driving instructions because it was located not in a town. Of course the parking would be much easier than if you stay in the middle of a town.
