All of the excellent reviews hit the mark. This is a first class facility in every respect. The rooms are spacious with excellent bathrooms. The grounds are beautiful and well maintained as is the swimming pool. One can just relax and watch the activities in the river. It is also perfectly positioned to explore the region. The hosts are gracious and provide an appealing breakfast. The WiFi reaches the gardens and is very fast. This has to be the best base to explore the Dordogne.

We are just home following four fabulous nights at this beautiful place. The room we stayed in was very comfortable and the gardens and pool invited us to just relax and do nothing in the sunshine. Not that we did for long because nearby there were lots of places to visit - we loved the Josephine Baker house and the gardens on the cliff top above the house. Canoeing down the Dordogne one day with food and wine supplied by the hosts Ouafaa and Daniel was another highlight. The wine comes from Daniel's family vineyard and we had a bottle every night in the garden. Best of all was the Morrocan/French feast we had one night cooked by Ouaffa - fantastique. And on other nights we strolled 10 mins to seriously foodie restaurants in the village. You won't beat this place for location, service, ambiance and value.

Located beside the scenic Dordogne River and a stone's throw from the darling village of La Roque-Gageac, the Manoir, it's gorgeous gardens, and its gracious host, Ouafaa provided a warm, comfortable, peaceful and relaxing stay. We walked to the Gabares dock site and cruised the Dordogne after a delicious breakfast with touches of Moroccan accents. Then we shopped in the pleasant village. Our host kindly made dinner reservations for us each evening. Our charming (and spotless) room, the Milandes, overlooked the delightfully landscaped pool. We thoroughly felt at peace, safe, and cared for. From the Manoir we also drove 10 minutes to visit Sarlat through the beautiful Dordogne countryside. A wonderful retreat from which to explore the area. Thank you, Manoir de la Malartrie!

My wife and I loved our stay for all the excellent reasons described in the prior reviews. We came on the recommendation of my brother, who had stayed at the Manoir two years previously, and we were delighted to be able to discover its many charms for ourselves.

Stayed for a couple of nights as a romantic getaway whilst in the Dordogne and it exceeded all of our expectations. Wonderful hotel full of charm and character with very comfortable and excellent rooms decorated to a very high standard. Although on a busy road it offers a fantastic escape and is an oasis of tranquility, a destination in its own right. Our hosts were warm and welcoming yet also very unassuming. After a run out to a local village we were greeted with a cold refreshing glass of rose on our return, simply reflecting a fantastic level of attention to their guests.
Will certainly return and can only hope sooner rather than later.
