“Excellent for all the family”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 May 2014

Lots of museums in the area but this is one of the better ones and is well worth a visit. It is excellent for both adults and children. There are models explaining what happened on D-Day and there is a theatre showing in different languages. Excellent value for money.

“Tremendous Engineering Accomplishment !”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 April 2014

My wife and I were in Normandy recently and spent a full day on tour of the Omaha and Utah Beach areas. We had a rental car and took part of another day to see the British and Canadian beaches. I had read quite a bit about the visionary plans to set up artificial harbors for the invasion to avoid the necessity of immediately capturing natural harbors on the coast so we started at Arromanches.
As you drive toward the beach area, you can see the remains of the Mulberry Harbour. We started at this museum and were very impressed. It's not a very large museum but doesn't try to do too much and provides an excellent overview of the project. They have a comprehensive diorama that presents a comprehensive picture of the achievement and a very good short movie that goes even further.
The visit to the museum gave us a further appreciation of the amazing overall effort of the Allies to mount and support the largest invasion ever.

“Mulberry Harbour Museum”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 11 April 2014

I have been back for a second visit in March 2014. As an engineer I have been captivated by the whole concept of towing a harbour from UK to make a huge articial one on France. The museum explains it all with both models of the harbour and a short Black and white film in the theatre. Grat parking in the town plus an Aire for motorhomes. My usual french favourite....the patissirie is only 100 metres from the museum. Go and visit especially if you're a young engineering student.

“Small, but excellent museum”

This museum is focused on the Mulberry artificial harbor. They do an excellent job of explaining the project and how the harbor worked. The tour guide is friendly and knowledgable. The dioramas are excellent.
