“A great retreat by the coast”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 June 2014 via mobile

We booked this hotel through Brittany Ferries as our base for a short cycling break. Arriving worn out after a hilly ride from Cherbourg on a Sunday afternoon we were shown to our room which was a twin. Without asking we were offered a comfortable double room the following morning. The breakfasts were excellent, the service excellent and the proprietor could not have been more helpful. Our bicycles were kept securely in the garage. A very enjoyable few days.

We received a warm, friendly welcome on arrival at the hotel and lots of help and suggestions for restaurants. The room was spacious and comfortable. It was very close to the sea front and town centre.

Have just returned from our Anniversary trip to St Vaast,
La Granitiere is the perfect place to stay, not only is the charm of the Hotel and it's owner Jean-Paul a perfect compliment to the picturesque fishing and oyster centre of St Vaast but also offering a very comfortable and reasonably priced room (e69) and a substantial breakfast with lovely fresh coffee This made our trip very enjoyable.
Plenty of free parking and good free wifi.
Good local restaurants for dinner which Jean- Paul will guide you through.

Thoroughly recommend and will be back again soon!

Room Tip: We stayed in a small double room at the top of the hotel, it was comfortable, good shower and TV and...

Have stayed at La Granitière several times and it never disappoints. Great welcome and very helpful owner who advises on the excellent choice of restaurants in the port. High standard of cleanliness and decor - very typically French. Breakfast is a perfect start to the day. Can't ask for more!

there is not much to add to the other recent favourable reviews of this charming little hotel. although small it is very friendly and clean, with a small bar area that is excellent for a few al fresco drinks in the evening. i considered the price (69 euros, room only) to be very reasonable. there is plenty of free parking, either on site or just outside. there is no restaurant, but it is a short distance to the harbour where there is a plentiful choice of places to eat (the criee du tomahawk - strange name but traditional french eatery - was especially good for fresh and inexpensive seafood). the patron is very welcoming. the area around is a bit off the main tourist track, so a nice quiet time is assured. we stayed only for the one night on the way to the cherbourg ferry, but will certainly consider it as a destination in its own right in future.

I thoroughly enjoyed my visit here. I had a room on the front and wasn't disturbed by any road noise.

The room was comfortable and decorated in a French style. the welcome was good and restaurant recommendations where worth it. it only takes 5 minutes to walk into town.

There is parking in front of hotel (free) or on the street.

Would I recommend this hotel to friends/family or revisit? Yes I defiantly would without hesitation.

From the moment we arrived, Jean-Paul made our stay a pleasure, from being greeted at the door by name, to making our restaurant reservations and generally being a wonderful attentive host - and he speaks near perfect English.

Room Tip: Every room is different, so it will depend upon what you are looking for. We had a room on the firs...
