We first came to sancerre for a French course but now we come back regularly even when we aren't taking lessons. Sancerre is a wonderful medieval town that is not overly touristy. The gite is walking distance to a couple gastronomic restaurants as well as a half dozen bistros, patisseries, cheese shops, clothing and jewelry boutiques (not to mention wine stores). The owner speaks fluent English is very helpful suggesting things to do and see. The gite is very comfortable and quite spacious. We would definitely come back.

I am taking a French course at Coeur de France and booked this apartment for the first week. I would have happily stayed longer if it had been available. It's very clean, very bright and Sigi is extremely helpful and welcoming. Only a half block from the main town square, I find it still quite quiet - and the bedroom I am using fronts on the terasse so there's no/minimal noise from the street.
Despite the hot weather in Sancerre this week, the apartment has been nice and cool and the breezes through the windows are lovely. All in all, a place I would definitely recommend.
