“Sancerre, icure perfect”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 August 2013

We approached Sancerre via the woods to the West, southwest (not via the Loire), as we came out in to the Vineyards that rolled gently over the fields in front of us and then spotted the hill top town it was picture perfect. We found our hotel and then walked to a outlook point and again picture perfect as the view dropped away to the Loire.
If you are on the way to the south of France or on the way back (for us based in the UK), it's a must stop of.
The wine purchased there is better than you can get in th UK for the same price, just as an added bonus.
Mason des Sancerre was a useful stop to get information very quickly and than you to the young lady who served/helped us.

“Interesting Museum and a Free glass of Sancerre Blanc”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 July 2013

A very nice introduction to wine making in the Sancerre area. The museum is well laid out and has some interesting exhibits. The filmed interviews with the locals about past harvests are fascinating.

Beautifully presented and refurbished establishment. All you could want to know about wine in Sancere. A bit expensive though.

“Informative and fun”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 May 2013 via mobile

This is a must for wine lovers.

The self guided tour took about an hour, the highlight is the video relief map at the start, and getting to drive a grape harvester in a little rustic simulator.

All the information helps show what a unique region this is for wine, and also the passion everyone has for the wine, and the goats cheese.

The tour finishes with a tasting, so really what is not to like?

“Nice Museum”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 May 2013

I spent a lovely hour at this museum and learned about the vineyards and winemaking all around Sancerre. There's a wonderful terrance overlooking the vineyards where I enjoyed a complimentary glass of wine on a beautifuly sunny day.
