From the outside the hotel looks ordinary, but when you drive your car to the parkinglot a beautiful garden lies in front of you, you get immediatly a restful feeling.
At the reception two friendly ladies wellcoming you gives another nice feeling.
We had a room (nr 110) with a little private terrace and an uncluttered view in the green surroundings. The room was not very spacious but adequate, and the bathroom modern and clean. So nothing to complain about, The breakfast in the mainbuilding was sufficient (and of course you can have your breakfast on your own terrace!) Furthermore the village of Montfort is a lovely nice, pittoresque town, in which you can make very nice strolls with many possibilities to stop to have a drink of a meal.

Room Tip: rooms with a private terrace nr 110?

A great place to stay on the way back to the tunnel. The town itself is postcard pretty with a great selection of shops and restaurants and beautiful buildings a plenty.
Our family room at the hotel was on the top floor which made it exceedingly hot on this July night. One word to the lady at reception and two fans appeared while we were out for dinner. We had a double and sofa bed for the children with bathroom and separate loo and there was plenty of room for the four of us not to get on top of each other.
Breakfast was self-service and catered to all tastes - meat/cheese, cereal, toast, pastries, yoghurt, tea/coffee/hot chocolate. If I was being really really picky I would have liked some fresh fruit, but everything else was there.
If you go out in the evening, you need your card to open the gate to the hotel and you must put the card in the slot and LEAVE IT THERE until the gate opens!
We would go back like a shot - clean, efficient and very friendly staff.

!0 of us stayed here on a golfing trip and were most impressed with the hotel. Excellent facilities, off road parking and a most acceptable breakfast. English speaking staff were most helpful particularly in seeing that we could take breakfast a little earlier. We've been going away together for some 20+ years and this the best hotel we have stayed in and only 3 star!?

Room Tip: I liked room 216, great bed and bathroom but it did not have a shower other than hand held in the ba...

Great hotel! Have stayed a number of times when on business. Located in a beautiful village, the rooms are a good size, especially if you stay in the residence across the road from the main building. No restaurant in the hotel, but a number of good places within a 5 minute walk past the church. Always try to book when business trips allow.

The hotel is part of the old town defences and is beautifully presented. Our room was accessed through a door in the tower and had doors opening on to the garden, which is quiet and well maintained.
Room excellently presented.
We arrived at 10 pm on foot (walking holiday) but the owners had phoned us with our access code to retrieve the room key. The only meal we had was breakfast but the breakfast room was very pleasant.
This was an excellent start to our short holiday.

Stayed here for 2 nights on the way back home from the Loire in order to visit Versailles (see separate review). Nice hotel and extremely friendly lady on reception. Our 'Grand Comfort' room was over in another building a very short walk from the main hotel itself. There is however ample parking at the main hotel which is ideal as the town's medieval streets are not conducive to cars and parking. It was actually quite nice being in a separate building as it made us feel as though we were actually staying in a private flat. The room was basically but nicely furnished with a large bathroom and view onto the little street outside. The only problem for light sleepers would be that there is absolutely no soundproofing in the building so you hear everything. The church bells might also keep some people awake although I love to hear them. The first morning we had breakfast back at the hotel. French hotels seem to have adopted the American approach of room only so breakfast was an extra 12 Euro each which for a fairly uninspiring continental style spread was a little excessive. There's a couple of boulangerie in town where you could easily grab something in the morning for a fraction of this cost. One thing to note if you are on business, the hotel has wi-fi but we found that we couldn't connect to it from the separate building we were in. The signal just wasn't strong enough.
The hotel owns a restaurant in the centre of town just up from the church - called La Place - we found it extremely expensive for what was basic French brasserie food i.e. salad/pasta starter followed by 2 main courses of meat with frites and a bottle of wine/2 glasses of kir royale and one cheese course came to about 140 Euro which is outrageous (although its our own fault for not following the general rule of going for the plat du jour option which is generally cheaper). The second night we ate a Thai/Chinese restaurant over the road called Chi-Fan which was good, had a great ambience and was much better value for money. Pleasant enough visit to what is quite a nice little town.
