“Professional, comfortable, great view”
Reviewed 13 August 2010

The hotel is part of the Reials du Silence, which at first blush may seem odd, as it is on the port, and has quite a lot of traffic during the day. Also, it is not very pretty-pretty. It seems quite stern and business like. However, we found it an oasis. The view of the harbor was great, the suite (we splurged) roomy (REALLY roomy), the location great (from a tourist point of view), the receptionists very polite, WiFi was fast and free -- all in all, it was just very very comfortable. And as far as the silence is concerned: when you closed the windows, silence reigned supreme. And did I mention the hotel has A/C?

Hotel is fine but the breakfast is poor and expensive.Room was E125, big clean and well fitted out.

Don't go to the Maritime next door, very bad food and staff do not care one bit.
Watch your step as the town is covered in Dogs Pooh, like most of France!!

My partner and i stayed in seaview room which is well worth the extra cost. spacious rooms, relaxing on the lounge chairs overlooking the marina and headland with the sea breeze eating the perfect french breakfast .. Attention to detail that makes the difference - Spotlessly clean, comfortable AC, automatic curtains, big comfy bath, friendly but professional but relaxed staff. Fecamp is a nice little fishing town - not a tourist trap - but enough relaxing things to do - coffee on the corniche , the Benedictine distillery/museum, we bought fresh oysters and shrimps from carrefour and ate them on the beach throwing the scraps to the seagulls, walk up the headland to the old church, music on the corniche on the weeeknd, people watch from the balcony, Noise of cars / bikes was not a problem. A very relaxing few day. Highly recommended. With thanks to hotel staff.

This was a superb place to stay, the room was spacious, clean and very comfortable with an outstanding view of the harbour and cliffs behind, a great place for people watching as well with holiday makers and sailors all in view. Not silent during the day but what would you expect in a busy lively seaport and holiday destination? Once late evening came all was quiet and the room was airconditioned and double glazed. It is certainly worth paying extra for a panoramic room.
The breakfast buffet was one of the best we have encountered with lots of freshly brewed coffee and constant replenishment of food when supplies ran low - not always the case in french hotels. There is a very smart bar available all day with a pianist on Saturday evenings.
Thre are lots of restaurants within a few steps of the hotel and we ate very well at all of them.
The staff were all very friendly , polite and helpful.
The previous comment is most unhelpful to an outstanding and well run hotel.

  • Liked — Comfortable spacious modern decoration of room and view

Having read a number of very positive reviews on the Hotel, I booked a suite for the last night of our holiday. I thought it would be a great way to spend the last day, relaxing and looking out over the harbour in a "Silence Hotel" which I booked through the Silence Hotel website.

What I hadn't banked on was that the picture on their website had been airbrushed and the building which looked as though it stood at the end of the harbour was actually squashed between other hotels, restaurants and double parking along the harbour edge. Quiet it was not!

The first look at the hotel made us both decide that we didn't want to stay. However we did try to venture into the lobby to take a closer look but you couldn't get in there because a coach load of teenagers had just turned up and were milling around trying to book in. There certainly didn't appear to be any "silence" in the hotel if they were any indication. As a consequence we got back in the car (which we had to park quite a distance away) and drove back to England. Of course I forfitted my payment for the suite but I felt that I had a lucky escape. I did write and complain to Silence Hotels but did not receive a response.

Maybe the hotel is nice inside but I certainly wasn't going to stay to find out.

  • Liked — I didn't go in to find out
  • Disliked — The misleading picture of the front of the hotel on thewebsite

This is a truly exceptional Hotel. I certainly do not mean simply in Fecamp or even Northern France. This Hotel is designed and managed to a truly exceptional standard. It is beautifuly thought out. If your the kind of person who is seeking "luxury" as defined by the vast majority of 5* Hotels then stay away. If your looking to experience " exceptional art in management " or perhaps need to get your employees to recognise exceptional service and perhaps duplicate it elsewhere then send them here. While your at it book a room for yourself and your better half with a sea view (children are also made very welcome). 5* Hotels rarely make one feel 5* so for a 3* star to achieve it is unique in my experience. The price is irrelevent but is in fact very inexpensive.

Dont stay here if your in this area of Northern France, go out of your way to stay here.

We stayed here for one night and this was one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in. The price was very reasonable for the level of service you get. They could charge three times the price. The hotel room was huge. It was very modern and every detail was thought of down to the sealed doors and electric blinds. Everything was very clean. I felt like we were the first people to stay in the room. The staff were very attentive. The location is also ideal.
