We stayed at the Ibis for just one night, we were impressed by how clean the hotel is and the food was excellent, breakfast was a bit spread out, but we found this to be typical in French hotels., we would recommend and certainly stay there again. It is hidden away behind other buildings so you must be alert when trying to find it.
Only stopped overnight for the ferry back cannot fault the facilities value for money and the friendly staff .
Meals good value and good quality. Plenty of choice on the menu to choose from
Would stay there again
I had forgotten just how tiny the rooms are at Ibis hotels. No room to swing a cat (we don't have a cat) and the double bed occupied over 50% of the floor space. Where do you put the luggage (in the shower base).
It's in a strange location, in the grounds of, and behind, a hospital. This is fine, as it's quiet and overlooks fields. But, at the moment, the hospital is being totally rebuilt, so entry is through a large construction site. Out the front is a pleasant terrace overlooking the car park and the fields, but unfortunately, when we stayed, there was a large group of cyclists staying, and they took over the hotel and were inevitably noisy. Not the hotel's fault. Dinner and breakfast were fine, and the staff were hard-working and friendly.
Good location, handily placed for the A16 back to Calais or the tunnel. Set in a commercial area at the edge of town (like most Ibis's in France !), cheap fuel available at the nearby hypermarket. A bit difficult to find as the hotel is set behind a clinic and they had building work in progress so the hotel was a bit hidden by the earthmovers. On finding the hotel though we were amazed how quiet it was . Lovely views over the fields and lots of good places to walk the dog. Hotel could do with an upgrade, for example our room had dirty, wooden window frames which gave it a 70's appearance. Having said that though, the rest of the room was clean & comfy. Tip: If eating in the hotel restaurant, get in early as most of the starters are buffet style. We were late in and there was very little left !
Stayed here on our way to the Loire and we were very impressed with the location. Despite looking like it was in the middle of a commercial area the view from our room of fields was beautiful and there was plenty of grass to walk our little dog who was travelling with us. The room was clean and pleasant enough for a one night stay although could do with a little updating. We did struggle before our stay communicating with Ibis and the hotel directly to find out if the hotel's restaurant catered for our dietry needs. They refused to provide any details of the menu which we found very strange. When we arrived the menu accommodated what we needed, however, the food was very bland and we would probably have been better eating elsewhere but it was convenient after a long journey. There were other restaurants very close by. The breakfast was the usual Ibis continental breakfast and was very good.
