We were lucky enough to get a room here after arriving at another hotel we had booked and finding it closed! The desk staff were efficient and helpful and in no time we were happy and relieved to have a bed for the night. The room was comfortable and consistent with the Mercure standard, even though the decor was a bit tired and in need of an update. Unfortunately there was no fridge as in the previous Mercure we had stayed in. However there was a kettle and the air conditioning and wifi worked well. There didn't seem to be too many restaurants near by so we decide to have dinner in the hotel. It was very good. We had a lovely piece of fish. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the hotel.

Driving back through France, I needed a hotel en route to Calais and set for Abbeville. I had booked for the previous evening in Vierzon to find my room had not been processed despite a confirmation. After that late evening experience and no dinner, I gave up being organised.
Happily, in Abbeville, I saw the Mercure, parked and asked for a room for me & 2 dogs. No problems, got a key and unpacked. I was able to park beside the door and was welcomed well by receptionist.
The room was good, with a Juliet balcony, large wet room and coffee facilities. After a walk, I opted to eat in the bar, rather than the restaurant, as I brought my dogs with me. I had a lovely goats cheese and tomato tricolour salad, white wine recommended by the bar lady and a very good sleep.
Overall, very friendly staff, very pleasant stay. I was confused at some comments on this hotel. The facilities were good.
If staying, a walk towards the Church of St Vulfran is recommended. It is a beautiful gothic church from 1488 onwards, with a stunning exterior. There are also many monuments, smaller churches and a damaged girls school. Many buildings were damaged during the wall but they maintain a comforting presence in the town.

We stopped here off straight off the ferry to enjoy an evening in the town where some good D Day celebrations were taking place. I have stayed in a lot of Mercure hotels but this one is in poor condition and is very run down. It needs an urgent makeover. The staff are unfortunately in a similar state and the stay was not great. One exception was breakfast and the lady running the breakfast arrangements was very helpful. However, my advice is to steer well clear of this place for the time being.

Room Tip: Stay in another hotel but if you are forced to stay here then get a room with a view over the stunni...

Stayed overnight for the second time while traveling south from the euro tunnel, this hotel is perfect easy to find parking in the square outside. Comfortable rooms and the restaurant was very good. Will defiantly stay here again.

This hotel in the centre of Abbeville is excellent. The receptionist could not have been more helpful, the room and public areas were so much better than the dreadful photos on their website, restaurant provided really good, professionally served dinner and the breakfast offered a very wide choice. We were very happy with our stay.

Lovely hotel , great staff and service, nice food BUT chosen for its rooms for the handicapped and here it fell short for a wheelchair user as the slope up to reception was very steep and the lift to the rooms was only just capable of taking a wheelchair even when foot rests removed.

Room Tip: Ask for a twin at the rear of the hotel

We only stayed 1 night as we had a meeting the following day but for a business trip I appreciated the high speed internet, the hotel restaurant was better than most and the room was large & the bathroom enormous. The toiletries were nicer than in similar hotels too. An ironing board & iron would be a good add on on the superior rooms but otherwise we will return to the Mercure Abbeville.
