L' Auberge Picarde has proved to be a very reliable and accomadating venue for myself and friends for the past five years. This year will make it six on the trot. The owners are very helpfull in providing all the requirments we as racing cyclists need before and after our race. Car parking is very good and security for our expensive bikes the same. The rooms are very clean if a little simple but perfectly in line with a two chimney establishment. The restraunt is certainly well in excess of it's two chimney rating. One of my racing friends found this place 19 years ago, so this years visit will be a sort of anniversary, and I'm sure if there were a more cost effective solution he would have found it by now. The room was dull and the decorations and fittings very tired, the plumbing was not satisfactory and made a loud hissing noise throughout the noise which kept us awake.

We had booked half board and were offered a restaurant menu at 16 Euros. We wished to upgrade to the 23 Euro menu and pay the additional charge by way of a supplement but we were told "C'est impossible". We asked the restaurant staff again if we could upgrade as were were quite prepared to pay the difference but were told the same again.

All in all a hotel which seems to be living on past glory and seriously needs an upgrade of both attitude and decorations.

This is a Logis and we will be contacting them to pass on our views.

Ideal small French Logis 10 km from the A28 motorway to Rouen but in a quiet village. The logis is opposite an ex railway station. The rooms are modest but clean and care has been taken by the owner's wife to furnish it with co-ordinated soft materials. Bathroom more than adequate: we had even a jacuzzi! The chef is the owner and the food is far above one could expect in such a place; it is also mentioned in the Michelin guide for his unusually tasty menus. The chef has won several cups for his food and we were so impressed that we stopped for one night on our way back from further south. Friendly service by the staff and with no fuss but in a dining room that it is spotless. Well worth a stop even for lunch.
