“One of our secrets”
Reviewed 2 June 2014 via mobile

This is our 11th year of returning here as one if our annual breaks. We love it, always have and probably always will. To be fair we loved the island as soon as we first crossed the bridge but to find this small(though larger than it used to be) but perfectly formed hotel was an absolute bonus.
We virtually always stick to June or September as July and August is very busy with Parisian's. Very tasteful rooms await you and a couple of lovely pools with padded lounges for your sun bathing needs although we did prefer the old teak loungers and tables. Dinner is not served but we always enjoy dining out and some of our favourites I have also written about( see other reviews)
We also decline breakfast only because we love to have a leisurely lunch! One negative is the size of the TV. Now I don't go on holiday to watch TV but our June trips usually coincides with the french open. Perfect per dinner watching if only the TV was a couple of inches bigger!
I did think twice before I reviewed this gem as I think it is somewhat a secret thus far!

We stayed here for 5 nights in August. Despite it being full due to peak times there remained a feeling of spaciousness and a relaxed atmosphere. We had 2 rooms for our party, one being a larger family room. The rooms are arranged around 2 courtyards with a pool central to each. These were well heated and very well maintained. In fact, the whole place seemed to be so well maintained there was always someone fixing things or touching up the beautifully whitewashed walls. Rooms and all areas were immaculate. I fully recommend the breakfast, excellent value with an extensive continental buffet and most things homemade, including the preserves and delicious fruit compote. A family run hotel where nothing is too much trouble. We love Ile de Re and this is the first time we've stayed on this side of the Island. Le Bois Plage is a lovely little town and a nice change frim st martin or La Flotte. I will be booking again for next year! The only disappointment is that there is no bar service after 7.00 when reception closes and no restaurant for lunch or dinner when you don't feel like going out. However, there are lots within a few minutes walk.

Room Tip: If this had a restaurant it would warrant 4 star hotel standard without doubt.

We stayed for three nights recently at this beautifully run hotel/bed and breakfast. It is quite expensive as most things in Ile de Re are but worth every penny. Our room was very nicely furnished and painted in muted greys and blues. There was a walk in shower and very nice products, housekeeping is excellent.

There are two small pools, one more a family pool and the other quieter. There are plenty of sun loungers so no need for the dreaded towel on lounger at 7.00 a.m. syndrome!

Breakfast is served from 9.00 a.m. until 10.30 a.m. and although 12 euros it is very, very nice; nothing runs out, lots of variety, something for everyone.

The hotel has parking and is also very close to the long sandy beach of Bois Plage. One can also hire bikes from the hotel too. They are slightly more expensive than the bike hire shops in the centre of the village but much less hassle to get and no deposit required as the bill goes on the room charge. There is also a fun bar/restaurant and another restaurant within a few minutes' walk from the beach and the hotel.

The owners are in situ and are really lovely as are the rest of the staff. Nothing too much trouble. Children are very welcome.

Room Tip: All the rooms are excellent.

Lovely low rise collection of cottage like rooms with understated decor, muted colours ( v Farrow and Ball!!)' and nice and spacious. Really loved the room although a kettle would have been very much appreciated - they provide cofffee/tea sachets in the room but you have to go to another communal room to make it and i couldnt see any milk around. Breakfast was a little expensive but plenty of choice, thoroughly enjoyed the Hamman and the pool areas were very nice. hames there isnt a little bar and perhaps snacks in the day but then this is very much a glorified b& b rather than a full scale hotel.

The village is pretty but fairly quiet - if you are looking for lots of restaurants, bars and buzz thenhead for St Martin. We enjoyed good meals at The Ocean Restaurant ( altho a little pricey), the couple of restsurants up the road by the beach and the nice little bar just before you get to the market. Lovely covered market in the village, especially the fish stands.

We loved this Hotel so tranquil it was hard to leave on some days. Parked the car when we arrived and there it stayed and went everywhere either by foot or on bikes hired at the Hotel.

Perfect breakfast on the sunny terrace overlooking one of the pools. The staff were very friendly and attentive, as we arrived for breakfast the room was cleaned. The room (cat 3)was lovely with a wet room and little private terrace with table and chairs. No lunch or dinner is served but eateries nearby either the Grillade by the beach or l'Ocean for a nice treat. Drinks are available when required (reasonable price) and croissants laid out in the afternoons which you can help yourself to. We enjoyed bike rides to La Flotte and St Martin. Love this Island!

Beautifully decorated hotel -calm,beachy,grey colours and comfortable relaxing room with our own little patio. Breakfast was good although a bit pricey at 12 euros each for adults. Only criticism is that there are no coffee/tea making facilities in the room itself and no fridge/minibar which would have been useful and expected for the price of the room.
Situated in a very good area -quiet,close to beautiful beach and lots of easy cycling. Recommend.

A small family run hotel in a great location near a beautiful long blue flag beach, its well worth renting a bike ,the cycle-ways keep you off the road and the verity of birds and animals you see even suprised us the, light house and St Martin are a nice ride .Breakfast was a little pricey but was actually worth the money the town was very quite at night but relaxing .

Room Tip: ask for one with a fridge
