The hotel is well located, service friendly and the overall set-up is pleasant enough. Perhaps a little overpriced for what you get. But if you're even remotely a light sleeper stay away! We could hear the seemingly interminable snoring & coughing of the man next door. You can imagine our relief that the couple were not feeling more frisky!

We really enjoyed our 5-night stay at this hotel. Although it's more like having your own bungalow. The beautifully landscaped property and relaxing atmosphere provide the perfect base to visit the ever enchanting Ile de Ré. The hotel is nicely located, a short walk or bike ride from one of the nicest beaches on the island. The small but lovely pool was a plus. I managed to have it to myself a few times during our stay.

Our room was well equipped and spacious enough for three, using the convertible sofa. The wood terrace was particularly appreciated for reading, having a drink, drying towels, or even parking bikes. The bathroom was small, but had adequate storage space and light. The only problem was the shower, which was very narrow and had no shelf or caddy. However, there are a few nicely renovated "prestige" rooms available, with more upscale bathrooms, as well as air conditioning.

Breakfast was relaxed and pleasurable, with comfortable seating inside and out. Although the buffet choice was basic, the coffee, croissants and bread were all excellent. The staff were young, friendly and reactive to our needs. Overall a very enjoyable experience, hope to return.

Room Tip: If you are used to 4 star accommodations, opt for a Prestige room.

We stayed at this gorgeous little hotel at the end of June. Our little villa was just delightful. The staff were extremely friendly and very helpful. We cycled the length and breadth of the island. The fresh fish market in bois en plage was amazing. We would definitely stay here again

My family and I stayed in this lovely hotel from 3/8 July. Ile de re is a fantastic location for a family holiday with teenagers. We hired bikes and went around the island. The Villa was a perfect place for us to stay. Less than a 10 min walk to the centre and beach. Staff were so friendly and helpful. I would recommend this hotel highly. Hope to go back some day.

The Ile de Re is an expensive place to stay but I thought this was good value for money. This pretty 'resort' consists of a number of rooms set in landscaped gardens each with its own private deck. We had the twin room, which had a fridge and kettle so ideal for making cups of tea/coffee, or bringing back a picnic lunch purchased at a nearby local market perhaps- keeps costs down! Breakfast was adequate but not exciting although served by lovely friendly staff.

It is ideally situated about 10 mins walk from a beautiful beach and Bois Plage itself is right in the middle of the island minutes(by car) from La Flotte and St Martin - both quainter and more upmarket.

Do not visit Ile de Re without hiring bikes for at least a day. It's the best way to see the island and a trip from Bois Plage to St Martin to Loix and back is a delightful, easy day trip for even unfit bodies. My 82 year old mother managed it!

Room Tip: While we had the only twin room, it is located slightly apart from the others, beside the road and w...

This is a cracker of a boutique hotel. We only stayed for two nights but the hotel had everyone we could have asked for. Comfortable rooms, good hosting and good breakfast. Bois-Place is a good location for the island, close to the "capital" and beach, and with its own unique charm. This hotel represents a good option for couples or families wishing to stay for a few days or perhaps longer. Next time we only hope for slightly better weather!

Beautiful little hotel with a resort like atmosphere. Beach in a walking distance much too windy to swim but loved the views of people kite sailing on the waves. We had originally thought of staying in La Rochelle but found it a little overwhelming and settled on this lovely island. Enjoyed a spacious room with couch and small fridge( seems rare in France). Met our needs comfortably and even enjoyed the pool and sitting area outside our rooms. Staff were very helpful.
