This refuge is about half an hours walk from the car park, no cars allowed in the National Park, so make sure you have suitable shoes whatever season you visit. I was there for a day after the wedding lunch, they had opened a few days earlier than the summer season especially for us. A marque was erected over the outside deck as rain was forecast but it didn't obstruct the wonderful views and atmosphere. Plenty of home made style food, venison in a type of pasta with vegetables, plenty of cheese and even more wine and drinks. Helpful, friendly staff considering the amount of people who turned up at once. In season it is a traditional refuge though has been modernised so there are proper toilets and showers as well as a few sleeping quarters.
