“Great value hotel in a perfect location”

We stayed at Les Arolles for a 1 week ski vacation in Mottaret Meribel part of Les Trois Vallees, France.
The rooms are typical ski chalet with no friils except for the spectacular ski hill and mountain views.
The hotel is impeccable and the service is first class. The food in both restaurants is very good and great value for the money.
We would definitely stay here again.

We went to ski in 3vallees (I , my little son and a friend of mine) and we chose this hotel for its good references and the location. It was all wonderfully confirmed and we enjoyed the staying and the skiing. The hotel is comfortable and very clean and its location for skiing is really great. The staff was professional and very kind too. Nice hotel and no complains at all.

This is a wonderful family-owned and operated hotel right on the slopes. Comfortable and exquisitely clean rooms and public areas, extremely obliging and friendly staff and a fine kitchen combine to make a perfect spot for a ski-til-you-drop holiday. From the extensive breakfast looking over the valley with the sun coming up over the Alps, to hot wine après ski to an enormous raclette for dinner, everything was great, despite the unusually low snow level this year.

We only live ninety minutes from the best skiing in North America (Whistler-Blackcomb), but we would return to the 3 Vallées in an instant to stay at Les Arolles.

Third stay here and always a pleasure. Location right on the ski slope in Mottaret, ski in and ski out right into April, in hotel ski rental shop, swimming pool, superb food, friendly staff (don't trip over the owners' dog who likes to ride the lifts!). Very accommodating with an adjoining room for our children. Balcony over the slope the best but even those on the back have good views over the valley or village. Only noise is piste bashers but only about 10pm or 7am (and this is a ski resort!!) Not the cheapest but would not stay anywhere else!

We just returned from a week skiing at Les Trois Vallees and staying at Les Arolles. The location of the hotel was amazing - ski out from your door. Each morning we had a great breakfast as part of the meal plan and out we went. The location provides easy access to all the mountains. At the end of each day we enjoyed a sauna and swim, and occasionally a round of snooker. The hotel team went out of their way to ensure that our stay was great. There's a great fireplace area where you can enjoy a quite drink. Dinner is great, but if you want to skip it, you can get a refund, or eat one of the 'specialties' in the other restaurant on site. We had dinner out one night at a great place within walking distance. The other night we 'upgraded' to a nice beef fondue. In the ski storage area there is even a place that heats and dries your boots overnight. The airline lost our skis the first day - so it was great to have a ski shop right on site so they could fit us up and we didn't miss any skiing. This is a classic ski hotel; great people, not overly fancy, but with everything you could need.

I've decided to comment here because I couldn't believe that no one else had rated this hotel in the 5* category. The location can't be beaten - ski in/out in a posititon where you can be up Pas de Lac and at the top Courchevel before those from that resort. he service and food is also top notch - OK the breakfast is standard French (Oh for a bacon roll) and the evening cheese board a bit samey, but the setting is fabulous and you can swap restaurants if you ask. Fittings are classy. There's a pool and sauna for cooling down and a helpful ski-shop in the same building. Best of all is the lounge, where after a hard day's work on the piste you can settle down beside a log fire and read a book with a pre-dinner cocktail - fabulous. One problem is that the hotel is not offered by any of the UK tour companies, but if you have the means to arrive indpendently (e.g. by rail), it is just great. It isn't cheap (look out for low season deals though) but having stayed at nearby apartments and hotels, I hace come to realise that you get what you pay for,

Along with my family and friends I have stayed at Les Arolles every year for over 10 years. Overall this is an excellent hotel with many plus points. Most notably; a great ski in / out location, excellent food and good services, a ski hire / shop with very good equipment and professional staff. The bedrooms are functional but basic and the communal relaxation areas are spacious and pleasant - there is an interior bar which is good. A swimming pool also adds to the appeal. There is also a basic gym and games area with table tennis and snooker / pool table. The huge terrace is an excellent space to enjoy lunch or a few drinks after a day on the slopes. Lunch is well priced and good, passing trade ensures the terrace is busy. The hotel caters for children although a member of my family commented that they have some way to go in this department. The hotel charge residents for internet access which is grossly unfair. I would contest with management that anyone who pays the high cost of a stay should at least receive free internet access. Any hotel relies on good staff and Les Arolles is symptomatic of this lack of quality which manifests itself in this day and age. That said, the staff are of a superior level to what you find in Britain - we breed them dim as well as unprofessional. I would recommend this hotel, it has everything you need for a good holiday but I would say one thing to the management - do not forget about your most important commodity, the customer. With a loyal British following and a weak Pound Sterling, Hotel Les Arolles will have to do that bit more to retain customers.
