“Amazing week”
Reviewed 11 July 2014

We chose Hotel Grotta based on the other reviews on TripAdvisor, and it did not disappoint to say the very least. The staff were incredibly kind, helpful, welcoming, and generous. We stayed here as a part of our honeymoon 2-week adventure, and it was our favorite part of the trip. We arrived late at night and were greeted with wine and apple pie. Our hosts gave us more (delicious and homemade!) wine and some cake-y bread as we continued our stay, as it was our honeymoon. Another amazing thing was breakfast! A HUGE, incredible spread of traditional greek foods, breads, egg dishes, yogurt and cereals, honey, fruit, and more, so much to choose from, we came away from breakfast every morning so satisfied and ready to start our day!

Nicoletta was just one of the warmest, kindest, most hospitable people I have ever met. She truly made our stay special. From a warm "calimera" or wink at breakfast, to her ready willingness to do anything to help you out, she absolutely made Hotel Grotta the most incredible hotel we've stayed at.

Room Tip: All rooms have a nice sitting area. Ones on the inside of the hotel have access to a poolside-ish se...

Only had an overnight stay whilst island hopping but the service was superb. It is walking distance (though a little tricky with suitcases) from the port and great for a stop over. Everything you need is close by in the town and Naxos is somewhere that we want to return to for a longer stay. The staff at the hotel are so helpful and the food is better than many higher rated hotels that we have stayed at. Facilities wise, this is a good value hotel and though not 5 star, the value for money is exceptional - give it a try.

Room Tip: Go for a top floor sea view room as the garden view rooms are downstairs and OK for short stay.

We were so impressed by this hotel. Nicoletta was kind and welcoming, and took the time to introduce us to the beautiful island of Naxos. Her mother makes an incredible array of dishes for the breakfast (included in the price), from spinach pie, to quiche, to custards. The room was very clean, and the courtyard was a nice place to relax. The hotel is a short walk to the downtown area. There is a beautiful view of the water and sunset. I would highly recommend this hotel!

Room Tip: Get a higher level room, with a view.

If we could give the Hotel Grotta higher than a 5 star rating, we would do so. We love everything about it. The Lianos family and their staff are effortlessly helpful and welcoming, the rooms are beautifully maintained and spotless with lovely toiletries, the view is superb and the food and wine fabulous. It's a real 'home away from home'.

We have traveled the world and rate Hotel Grotta as our favorite hotel. This is not because it has the best or most amenities but because of the amazing hospitality and friendliness of Nicoletta and her family. Every morning we felt like we were staying with good friends due to her always upbeat and gracious greeting. The other reviews tell about the other wonderful aspects of the hotel, which also added to our pleasure.

Room Tip: We enjoyed our sea view room and felt that it was worth the extra cost.

My sister and I arrived from Mykonos by ferry and were greeted by a hotel arranged cab to take us to our rooms. A family run hotel we were greeted by one of the adult children a wonderful woman who sat and went over a map of the island with us pointing out where to go and what to do; A brother got us situated in our room and we walked easily into town to get a car and go exploring. The hotel is lovely and our room was clean and spacious; the breakfast is simply outstanding, an incredible spread prepared by the grandmother. Simply the best little hotel in Naxos a real gem. Don't miss the jacuzzi downstairs.
