“A town inside the castle.”
Reviewed 22 October 2013

When you enter the Kastro, there is not just a fortress/castle, but also a small town with many houses inside where once the "latins" (people from Venice) lived.

“Not too much to see”
Reviewed 10 October 2013

Compared to other castles I have visited there is not as much to see as I'm normally used to, yet it's well preserved and renovated so definitely worth a quick look. Make sure to reserve enough time for a walk through the old town which is built around the castle and that I enjoyed more.

“Medieval beauty looking over the city”
Reviewed 8 October 2013

The Kastro is located on top of the hill that overlooks Naxos town and the best way to reach it is via the northern entrance although there are signs around telling you you can reach Kastro purely to make you take that entrance to get lost in the little shops and restaurants located there. The northern entrance is the best and takes you to the top of Kastro where there is a Catholic cathedral and a museum. Descend via the same way to go to the Orthodox church and museum located right near the sea.

“Fantastic Beach and very quiet”
Reviewed 13 September 2013

Personally i loved this beach due to many reasons, it was very quiet, we came really early and it was almost like a private beach for us until we realized that the shades were really was a personal property of the villas nearby, but the water was very nice, the beach was extremely good and there are some local Tavernas nearby managed by families which offer good food at very affordable rates, bring your own supplies and then you will love the beach

“Bouzouki night at the top of the kastro.”
Reviewed 21 August 2013

We were fortunate enough to attend a bouzouki and traditional greek dance event at the top of the castle, overlooking the sea. 2 musicians...bouzouki and guitar, and great dancers performing traditional Greek folk dances. Entrance fee included all you can drink.....A truly enjoyable, memorable evening of Greek song and dance!
