Stayed 5 nights in May 2014 as part of a wider 51 day trip through parts of Europe. Paid €22 pn for a studio room. Room #4 up 1st flight of stairs. Rate did not include breakfast.
Room had a basic concrete balcony with small table and 2 chairs that looked out to not much (tiny street below).
Nektarios was very friendly, picked us up for free transfers to/from port and spoke English. He checks in on the place in the mornings if you want to catch him. He gives you his mobile in case you want him any other time.
Room was clean enough. Room serviced daily other than 1 day when the cleaning lady was sick and Nektarios came and changed the towels and basics himself. He gave us a bottle of organic wine from his families winery.
Room had: AC, Heating, Desk & Stool, In Room Safe, Mirrors, Wardrobe, old style small TV, Iron & board, Clothes drying rack, side tables and lamps at bed, small Kitchenette with fridge, kettle, stove top & utensils. Dining table & 2 chairs. Lighting is pretty good. Good amount of power points.
Bathroom was private, of average size. Soaps only, not shampoo. Hairdryer provided affixed to wall outside bathroom near a mirror. Hot water shower with very good water pressure however it is a hand shower as the wall fixture has been removed. Okay for everyday shower but trickier for washing hair – hubby came in handy acting as statue with arm raised high from outside holding it in place over curtain for me! Shower was on own base and had a curtain.
Parking out on street (if lucky enough to find a park) otherwise there is a car park (free I think) less than 5 min walk near the town end of St George beach.
WiFi: free. Speed: Intermittent. No pool.
Close to everything; rental places, laundry (€10 for 5kg clothes), cafe’s, old pedestrian town, harbour, St George beach, etc. Very quiet at night as it is in a side street off one of the more major streets.
Overall, we would give this 3.5/5 stars. We would happily stay again but may look for somewhere new (primarily based on only having a hand shower and the wifi dropping out too many times). Very happy though with how Nektarios, the owner, checks you are okay and happily picks you up and drops you off. Overall we considered it good value for price paid.
