We stayed for 3 nights in July. We were warmly greeted and made to feel welcome throughout our stay. The room was cleaned daily and the breakfast was your typical light European. The location of the hotel was perfect for us and there was no need to hire a car or bike. The hotel backs straight onto the St George beach, and it is only a short 5-12 minute walk to the town center and port through some wonderful shops and restaurants. The only negative I have for this hotel is the stairsways. We travel with heavy luggage so it was a little difficult for me on check in/out.

We spent two weeks on three islands and this was our first stop. The location is unbeatable, right on the beach with an easy stroll into the centre.
Very friendly and helpful staff and good breakfast. Rooms simply furnished and clean.
Easy to catch public transport ( tickets purchased beforehand from the bakery!)
Worth travelling into the mountain villages and to see the Kouros statues.

Room Tip: Most rooms have sea view. Some steps from street to reception and out onto beach, but can't real...

On the beach at St George Naxos. A lovely, friendly family run hotel. Ideally on the water and only a casual 10 minute walk along the beach and waterfront into Naxos Town. Very friendly people that run this hotel. The rooms are small but make sure you get up on the 2nd level and you'll get a nice little balcony straight over the water. Very pleasant and comfortable sleeping. An old hotel with plenty of charm. I know some reviewers suggest more could be done to this hotel but I would say leave it as is.
They only do breakfast but there are plenty of tavernas and restaurants within a 5 minute walk if you don't wish to go into town with plenty on the beachfront and plenty just back from the beach. The rent a cars are 2 minutes up the road.
Overall a great spot. The beach is very shallow so it's great for kids and a bit of a walk out for those of us a little older.
This is not a fancy hotel but it sure is friendly and clean and in a great spot.

Room Tip: I'd recommend the 2nd level and beach view.

We've stayed at a lot of budget hotels across Greece and the Greek islands and, in our opinion, this is by far one of the best for the price. For 60 euro a night for a double (70 euro for a triple), we had an ocean-front room on the top level with BEAUTIFUL direct sea views from our balcony overlooking St. George bay. The rooms are basic but clean, comfortable, bright and cheerful with a simple Naxos-island style decor (without feeling at all dated). The rooms have a mini fridge and good air conditioning; in fact, on the first night, our daughters set the air conditioning so cold in their room it felt like a refrigerator in the morning. The beds are typical 'Greek firm' but we found them to be comfortable. The bathroom was small but functional for two people with plenty of hot water for showers; my only complaint was that the sink was a little narrow. The room was cleaned daily with fresh sheets and towels provided. A nice buffet breakfast (with breads, cakes, cereal, toast, yogurt, cheese and lunch meat, and a daily selection of fresh fruit) can be enjoyed on the large terrace overlooking the sea. The hotel is right on the beach and a 5 minute walk to Naxos town but still in a quiet location. There are convenient local buses available for transport to the southern beaches (Agia Anna and Plaka). The staff are very friendly and helpful and provide free tranfers to and from the port. This was our second stay at Hotel Asteria (we booked a double and triple room for 5 nights in June) and we enjoyed it as much as in 2010. It's the perfect place for a beach vacation near Naxos town so we're somewhat surprised that the hotel doesn't get overall higher ratings on TripAdvisor. We definitely hope to return soon!

Room Tip: We strongly recommend booking the sea-view rooms on the top floor.

Stayed here for 2 nights in room 102. Hotel is right on the beach and rooms overlook the beach. Perfect position just minutes from the centre. Rooms clean with fridge, plenty of hot water and good water pressure. Aircon efficient and quiet. Patio with table and two chairs. Breakfast ok.

We incidentally found this hotel in Naxos City, right on St George's Beach. Easy walking distance to town centre. Breakfast very minimal, at extra 5 euros per person. Staff very accommodating, even volunteered transfers to airport. If you're after budget, this is great value without compromising the experience.
Very hard to negotiate around here, because of one way streets. Food in tavernas have been excellent, traditional, tasty and reasonably priced. City around port very vibrant at night.

My husband and I stayed in Hotel Asteria for 3 nights. The rooms are basic but perfectly adequate and clean with air-con, fridge, small bathroom and balcony.
Its really the location of this hotel that makes it special, its right on the beach and only 10 mins walk from town with lots of restaurants and shops in between.

Sea views from the balcony are beautiful.

Breakfast was good, buffets style with cereal, breads and fruit and yogart.

The staff were very friendly and helpful.

I'd be delighted to stay there again.

Room Tip: I think all rooms have sea views but check with the hotel so you dont miss out.
