“Happy Happy Stay”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 August 2012

This is a wonderful guest house if you are prepared to stay in the mountains for walking. It is an hour by bus to get to the beach each day but a fascinating ride.
It is run solely by Gabriella and her daughter Maria who make it their business to give you a trouble free holiday. It was a joy to come home at night to their beautiful rooms and smiling faces....nothing was too much trouble for them.
Gabriella speaks wonderful English and is a fountain of knowledge as to where to go or how to do it. Her daughter Maria was so good at dropping me off at walking venues.
The rooms are tastefully created with views of mountain and sea to die for and spotlessly clean. Security is excellent. A delightful breakfast was included in price.

We have stayed in this bed and breakfast for 5 nights recently and it was great. Very welcoming staff, clean rooms, plentiful breakfast, nice scenery, car port and very close to nearby towns (Amalfi, positano etc.). We would definitely recommend this accommodation if you are visiting Amalfi coast.

I cannot recommend Nido Degli Dei highly enough. The rooms are very comfortable and the views of the sea are beyond compare. I loved the exquisite garden to relax in and just live "La Dolce Vita.". Gabriella and Maria are always friendly and most helpful. I loved my stay at Nido Degli Dei. I hope to return someday. Thank you!

Great service - we spent 3 nights and Gabriella was an extremely gracious host. The rooms were incredibly clean and the view was fantastic. Garbriella was very engaging - directing us to the locals sights, giving us tips on where to park, etc. Breakfast served was also good.

Note that, Agerola is about a 20-30 minute drive from Amalfi, can also walk down the steps.

There only one night. Should have stayed two more. Wonderful room. Great woman who runs the place.

Hard to get to, but worth the climb.

5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 April 2010

Spent three nights at Nido Degli Dei in late April 2010. I can't recommend the place enough. When we first arrived in Agerola we got lost and Gabriella came to get us so we could follow her to the hotel. We stayed in room 23, the Eros room, and it was quite large and lovely and the bathroom was also large. The bed was two twins, made into a king, as is standard in Italy. We had a large balcony with a spectacular view - I'm not sure there is a bad view in the hotel! We even had a view of the sea from the bathroom! The owner(s) mother and daughter, Gabriella and Maria, were very friendly and spoke quite good English. They fix a nice continental breakfast when you get up - never setting "hours" when we could be served, including coffee, pastries, bread, cheese, salami and fruit. They had satellite TV, although of course mostly Italian stations. All this for 50 Euro a night! Granted, we were a bit off season, but the value was incredible.

Amusingly, we woke to the sound of roosters and a mule braying most mornings. The house right next door, in addition to the usual huge garden spot, they had farm animals. The room was quiet with the balcony doors shut though. We walked to the square for meals more than once (Gigino's is great - order the house wine.) and to catch the bus down to Amalfi - a thrill ride in itself! There is also a VERY nice restaurant a few miles further up the mountain, quite a hike if you don't have a car, called La Taverna, that was wonderful. The people of Agerola were pretty much all very friendly and happy to try to talk to you if they had any English - and even if they didn't!

A few words, not of complaint, but comment. Their website indicates there is wireless internet, but there was not. Still, Maria was more than willing to let us hook our own laptop to her internet connection at the desk to check email and search for a Rome hotel. They did not take our Visa card, but I think it may have been because we were so early in the season. I note the website says they take MasterCard, but we didn't ask about that. I think their website might "fluff" the services a bit, but then we never asked for room service or cooking lessons or whatever, so I really can't say that for sure. Their photos on their website are no lie. The rooms and view are just as depicted.

All in all, we had a wonderful, romantic and relaxing three nights. I highly recommend this hotel to travelers!

I stayed at Nido Degli Dei with two friends the summer of 2009. We booked it because we wanted to visit the Amalficoast to just swim, relax on the beach and party at the end of our Italy trip.

The resort was situated in Agerola, a small city on the top of the Amalficoast - it was a lot higher up than we had pictured. The clouds passed by the window of our room! :)

The bus to Amalfi etc. departed at least once an hour from a busstop not far away, but the trip down to the beach took at least 30 minutes and was CRAZY! The hills were the steepest I have ever seen, and the roads were the narrowest I have ever seen. I clinched to the bus seat the whole ride, almost kissing the ground when arriving in the city of Amalfi.

We also tried to walk down to Amalfi one day, because I was told that it was very possible to do when I booked our stay. We had to walk for about an hour down steep stairs before walking one hour on the narrow roads (trying to stay clear of cars and buses) before arriving in Amalfi. NOT recommended at all.

Nido Degli Dei is a very nice and clean hotel, quite big rooms with good bathrooms! The staff is very helpful and cheery - we got our breakfast (which was included) served when we got out of bed - at a time that suites you! That's what I call service. The breakfast was good as well, both ham and jam :)
Also, we did not have cash when we were going to pay for our stay - but the nice lady in the reception drove us to the nearest ATM/bankomat with her own car. Again, that's what I call service!

It's a great and cheap place to stay If you are okay with taking a horrible busride down to the Amalficoast every day for 40-50 minutes, or if you are planning on staying on the top of the mountain :) Great restaurants in Agerola as well, half the price of what they charge for the same meal down by the beach!
