“Authentic Italian pizza and friendly staff”
Reviewed 12 August 2014

The very friendly staff went above and beyond to give us the best service possible, accommodating us when we asked to move table twice! (The first table was outside next to the main road, which is very noisy and has too much traffic fumes, and the second table was indoors but too far from the air con). They even switched on extra air con fans for us without being asked! We were embarrassed to have put them to this trouble but they were lovely. They were also happy to serve us wine by the glass (not their usual custom), the only problem was the glass was almost a pint! The pizza was very nice and the choice on the menu was varied. The staff also helped us with our Italian, and one lady wrote down some phrases for us on a piece of paper.

We visited 3 times during our stay in Minori. Simple Italian food that tastes great at a reasonable price.

“Best pizza, hands down!”
Reviewed 2 June 2014

We visited Minori for the second time in 4 years, we could hardly wait to get back there to see if the pizza here was as good as we remembered. It lived up to all our expectations, so much so that over our 10 day visit we ate there 3 times. Best pizza we have eaten anywhere, not just in Minori or Amalfi coast but anywhere.

“A pleasant surprise on the Amalfi Coast”
Reviewed 7 November 2013

My wife and I were touring the Amalfi Coast and the traffic coming off the mountain from Ravello was packed so our driver said instead of going to Amalfi for lunch he suggested we could go into Minori as he knew a good restaurant there. The Ristorante Pizzeria Altamarea t is located across the street from the water. We decided to sit outside and had a view of the beach. We asked our driver to join us for lunch but he declined so it was just my wife and I dining. Fish is a specialty here so we asked the waiter what he recommended and we went with his suggestion (Sea Bream). I stated that I would like pasta also and the waiter quickly recommended the house specialty which was actually pasta with seafood and suggested we split the pasta as it was a big portion. Salads, a local red wine, and bottled water were also ordered. Immediately they brought out some fresh bread which was wonderful. Then after a little bit they served a bread from the oven that reminded my wife and I of pita bread only it puffed in the middle. It was sprinkled with salt and herbs and when we added some olive oil on top of the bread it was very delicious. The red wine we were served was very good. We split the seafood pasta and I have to say that the portion was really large. The seafood consisted of clams, mussels, crab, prawns, and other assorted fish. It was served hot and it was delicious. Then came the salads and they were huge. We had assorted items in the salad like tomatoes, carrots etc. along with the greens. Halfway through consuming our salad our whole fish came out of the kitchen. Our waiter filleted it and served us each a portion of the sea bream. It was cooked in olive oil and lemon and he poured the juices over the fish. Simply done and quite delicious. We thought all the portions served were large and we didn't even have room to consider dessert. The diners next to us had pizza and we asked how that was and they stated they like it very much. Our waiter spoke English and was attentive to our needs. He was hospitable and we exchanged banter throughout our lunch. He even wrapped up our left over bread so we could enjoy it the next day, which we did. Lunch considering we had salad, wine, water, fish, and pasta was reasonable to me (60 euros). We would definitely go back to this restaurant if our future plans have us in this area.

“Very good Pizza”
Reviewed 15 September 2013

When it was impossible to park atAmalfi, we pressed on the short distance to Minori where there was ample street parking, chose Altamarea for its fresh appearance ad sat in the afternoon sun watching the bay and enjoying what was the best pizza we have had in Italy. The house special is seafood the lot and was bountiful and tasty. It followed an entree of mussels which we also shared and washed down with a local Rose.
