We had a most enjoyable visit with Vincenzo and his family. The food, wine and Limoncello are all beyond excepttional.
If you can deal with the walk up the hill, its well worth the climb!!
Awesome and breathtaking views and exceptional food. What esle coudl you want??
On whole the cost of the stay and the food were considerly less and much more sumptuous than otehrs pacles we stayed and visited on Amalfi.
Rooms were clean and modern with reasonable privacy.
Parkign for cars is somewhat of an issue. But its that way on the entire Amalfi coast. If you rent, be sure to buy up and get the full comprehensive and collison covarege. You'll be gald you did!!

Room Tip: Best room is on top. Try and get it. More private and larger.

There is no better place on earth to sit, as the sun goes down, and eat some of the finest cooked local produce you will find anywhere. Vincenzo, Maria and their wonderful family are friendly and look after your every need. From a glass or ten of their wonderful, homemade lemonade after you've walked up from the road to a special 50th birthday cake and prossecco provided for my brother's birthday, they are "troppo gentile". The rooms are clean and comfortable and cleaned every day. And the food...I've written about in in the restaurant section but James Martin, Ginnaro Contaldo and others rate it some of the best food they've ever eaten and they're right. Everything except the fish is grown on the farm and the cured meats and cheese would grace a plate in a michelin starrred joint. pork from their own pigs, Vincenzos own wine which, as he promised, doesn't give you a headache as there are no sulphites or anything else nasty in it. I could go on and on and already have.
Thanks all, see you VERY soon.

Room Tip: Sleep on the terrace floor if you have to but go there!!

After two nights in Salerno, my wife and I switched our reservations and moved to Villa Maria. Thank goodness! Vincenzo and his family are incredible hosts. The meal was phenomenal, and the views are breathtaking! We would definitely return!

For the final leg of our Italian Honeymoon my wife and I chose VIlla Maria, mostly based on David Rocco's Amalfi Getaway. We were not disappointed in the least. The view was the most spectacular we've seen during our entire trip. Maria's food was always delicious and very abundant. Our room was extremely private, cool and comfortable. We had a private terrace, which was perfect for watching the fireworks from the festa in Minori. From the welcoming lemon drink to the wonderful atmosphere, this was a very romantic getaway. To agree with the reviewer below, Villa Maria could benefit by turning off the TV.

Stayed at Villa Maria for three nights July 13. We chose this particular Villa after we saw a TV programme, where James Martin (English chef) visited, and cooked some dishes there. It looked incredible on TV, and lived up to our expectations, and more. The accommodation could be perceived as a little difficult to get to with it's many steps, but hey, well worth it. The views are second to none, and you don't get that unless you make a little effort. The hosts were more than helpful and spoke enough English to get by. The actual accommodation has everything you would expect, and is very clean. We stayed on half board basis eating there all three nights. The food was excellent, and fresh produce from the garden used to make fantastic dishes. The lemons grown on site are unbelievable, & Vincenzo's lemon cello is a must after dinner (or before)

Room Tip: Only six rooms and from what I saw they're all pretty much the same.

We had been told to stay at Villa Maria by some friends and were looking forward to it immensely - although the view is splendid and the dinners outstanding (beautifully prepared, fresh food), the rest of the experience left a lot to be desired. Our room was not ready on our arrival even though we had spoken to them the day prior - our room as only intermittently air conditioned and the air conditioner leaked water when it was on. We were given extremely confusing directions to get around (and we had already been in Rome and Positano and consider ourselves very seasoned travelers) and it was very noisy (both guests and the family that owned the place shouted into the night and a tv was on constantly). We were on our honeymoon, so all of this added up to a fairly unromantic stay.

We spent a week at Villa Maria because we had read such fantastic reviews about it on tripadvisor. It fully lived up to our expectations, and more. Our room was very clean and stylish, set among the lemon groves and the view was simply stunning. We had a different menu every night, always made from fresh, local produce and beautifully cooked by Maria. Unlike other places on the Amalfi coast, the little town of Minori has not been spoilt by tourism and is a delight to wander around. We hired a car but it was not really necessary (and walking up the steps in the valleys will keep you fit). By studying the bus timetables it is possible to get around the whole of the coastline from Salerno to Sorrento and get boats to the islands or along the coast. There is even a little local minibus that runs up from the town to where the villa is situated. From the road to the villa is a steep 5 minute walk, but the views and the food and the hospitality when you arrive make every step worthwhile. If you do travel by car we were grateful for the advice from a previous reviewer that it is a good idea to check out exactly where the villa is beforehand in order to avoid getting lost. The owner, Vincenzo, his family and everybody who works at the villa are lovely people who genuinely want to make your holiday nice for you. Always willing to talk about life on the Amalfi coast and give advice about the local area. Always a smile, always friendly. We would like to go back again.
