“OK but not really 4 star”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 October 2012

It was comfortable enough but had no atmosphere and the bathroom was dirty. At least it had a bath but I'm not sure the cleaner has realised this! Breakfast was OK but I have had much better in hotels with lesser stars. At least it was fairly central and close to the bus station. Would only recommend if on business.

This is the ONLY hotel in the city centre of Avellino, so if you don't have a car you don't have much choice.
The hotel is ok, clean, with strong water pressure and in general without negative surprises. However the furniture is very "business oriented". I would not recommend it for a romantic trip in two.
The breakfast "buffet" is in the average range for an Italian hotel.. don't expect anything closed to a foreign hotel or you'll be disappointed!
Overall little bit expensive. I paid 70 euros for a single room (actually a double bed) and.. no.. don't ask me why but it's not in the standard hotel booking sites (expedia, edreams..). You have to call or email them in order to book a room.

The Avellino town is quite pretty and calm but without actually "real" amenities. Surely nothing to do with the mess but also the art of Naples.

Compared to less rated hotels on our recent trip to Italy, this was extremely poor standard and classified as a 4*. Whilst I appreciate that it means different things in different places this was the highest level of accommodation we stayed in. The bathroom was dirty, the room had previously been occupied by smokers and the whole experience left us feeling less than enamoured. Would not recommend.

The lobby of this hotel is very nice, and the staff was very helpful and English speaking, as well. The room was small compared to hotels in the US, but it was very clean and the bathroom was large and well-equipped. There was a small refrigerator which came in handy. The furnishing/decor and lighting (fluorescent) in the room was what I would call minimalist /utilitarian modern and not warm or cozy or romantic and for that reason the room was not conducive to hanging out in. The underground parking was interesting as the ramp to the garage was steep and narrow and almost a hairpin turn, and I found opening the gate to be confusing (I got out of the car on the steep ramp and walked up to the lobby so they could release it?). The button did not seem to work, but perhaps I did not understand what to do. The garage was small and dark, and only after a couple of days did I figure out that I had to touch one of the poles (I can't recall if there was a switch on the poles) to turn on a light in that small dark cavern. Once I could see my way around the garage, I found the very convenient elevator that leads to the hotel lobby and rooms. There is a larger grocery store across the street about a block away and a coffee shop under the hotel on the ground floor (the hotel lobby is up a flight of steps from the street). I had pizza in the hotel restaurant one evening, but since the wait staff spoke no English and my Italian is even worse, I didn't really know what else to order and the menu was only in Italian. I would stay here again - especially on business or if alone. I would likely choose a different type of hotel for a romantic getaway.

Walked into this hotel and asked for a room. Staff were friendly, polite and helpful. Breakfast not as good as some places. Avellino was a mess because of the garbage crisis in Campania and the main plaza in front of the hotel was undergoing reconstruction/renovation. Traffic was difficult (even for Italy!) but the hotel had free underground parking. Room was clean and the bathroom was excellent--even had a bathtub! Hard to find a place to eat the one evening we stayed there but wound up at an excellent pizzeria across the street.
