All you need from a b&b. Clean rooms, comfortable beds, clean and spacious pool with no ‘unnecessary’ rules regarding hats, inflatables, drinks (glasses) etc. Lovely food in the resturant which we would have eaten in more often if the limited choices were more suited to our children. However, we ate there 3 times during the week and each time it was excellent - a dinner menu available at breakfast each morning (often typed out in English - especially for us). Staff all extremely accommodating and friendly - the housekeeping lady was lovely and did a brilliant job. Location great - bus stop outside the hotel (the bus tickets available from the hotel) 30 mins from Ischia Port, 10 mins walk to the beach (although note - steep climb back up). Dined at the nearby Oasis Resturant which boasts a beachfront location and makes for a beautiful evening meal choice with a varied menu. We had room 125 - great sea view and spacious balcony with clothes rack - also good WiFi signal in the room. Only criticism was lack of variety at breakfast - plenty on offer but same each day. Supermarket just down the road with a good supply of most essentials - closes for lunch 1:30pm - 4pm. Tip - 66 Cl bottle of Peroni 1 Euro 30 in shop down the road. Fridge in room available on request. All in all a fabulous holiday - beautiful island!

We were very satisfied with staying at Citara Hotel. It was a very nice family hotel, about 100 metres from the beautiful Citara Beach and 20 minutes of walk to Forio. The staff were very helpful and kind. We had a beautiful room with sea view. The rooms have safe-deposit box and air conditioning. Great cuisine including fish and specialties. I recommend this hotel and I believe I will come back again.

Lovely 2 weeks holiday on HB basis. Excellent position very close to Citara Beach. Good food and very clean and comfortable rooms.

Disadvantage is lack of WiFi in rooms. Lobby space needs to be rearranged and better decorated.

Secont time here, it continues to be a really well-run hotel with great staff and great food.
We went there for the first time last year with six friends, who loved it as much as we did. This year we went with a different set of four friends, who continued to sing its praises all week long,
The location has got all you want, bus stop at the hotel enterance, 100 yds down the road you are at Citara beach, (one of the best on the island), there are some bars at the beach if you fancy your after dinner coffee in front of the sea. The world-renowned thermal spa, I Giardini di Poseidon, are at far end of Citara beach, but are still within walking distance.
The second biggest asset of the hotel is the staff; from the reception staff, (a very calm pleasant young woman, who is always happy to help with any questions you have, and the owner's son who has obviously been well-trained to work in the service industry), the excellent waiters and the cleaning lady who every day gave a 100% cleaning service. I must include other staff, who I didn't see, but obviously exist as the public areas and the swimming pool were kept extremely clean and tidy. Last, the night porter! What can I say, there is so much! He dresses better than my husband does to go to a wedding, he not only knows all there is to know about Ischia but is also able to answer questions on a whole load of other subjects, is extremely helpful with anything you need, and is always smiling and polite whenever you see him.
The chef and the kitchen staff deserve a paragraph of their own! Every evening you are given a self service buffet for the 'Antipasti' and then a choice of three first courses and three second courses and a dessert. You make your choice in the morning and that permits the staff to make every dish perfect. They use local resourses whenever possible so the fish is always fresh, as are the vegetables and the local mozzarella and riccotta cheeses. My four friends who came with us are very picky, critical Italians but they all agreed they would go back to this hotel even just for the food, never mind all the rest!!!! My really sincere compliments to the chef, Alfredo, and all of his staff.

Room tip: I think nealy all of the rooms have sea view. I liked the furniture in the second floor rooms.

Family of three with 8 yo child and elder grandma, we stayed there 5 days at the beginning of July. Hotel is very near to Citara Beach, so be careful to arrive by ferry to Forio, not to Ischia porto, as it can be far. The road near to Citara beach is under works so it might be complicated to reach by bus. However during the day there is a small bus (navetta) which connects the beach to Forio every 20-30 min, rather irregularly, and the bus stop is next door to the hotel entrance: good plus. The hotel is amazingly clean and with excellent ratio cost- quality, particularly for the quality of cleaness (chapeau to Graziella) and the smart and accomodating attitude of the waiters during dinner. Also staff at the reception is very helpful, particularly mr. Francesco. Food at dinner is excellent, both in quality and quantity, and there is always three different choices. Only breakfast might need improvements, if more juices, eggs (at least some boiled ones) and a bit more variety were added. Majority of guests are Italians, Russians and Germans, most of them targetting Citara beach and the very nearby Giardini Poseidon, an amazing place (but only for Adults as thermal water is a no for kids). We had fun and hope to be back.
