“Great Family Hotel”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 22 August 2014

Our family of 5 stayed 7 nights in a garden room. We had the 3 children in the sitting room on a double and single sofa bed and we had a large double room. The bathroom was plenty big enough for all of us. The room and the whole hotel were very clean.
We varied our time between the hotel's pools - the garden area is about 150m from the main hotel and the pool there was perfect for the children as it was warm and shallow. The main pool was larger and also lovely but a bit cooler. Generally, we could find loungers when we wanted them.
We also took the free shuttle to the beach which had preferential rates for hotel guests.
It was also easy to take the public bus to S'Angelo, a small, pedestrianised town on the south of the island.
My husband and I also enjoyed massages in the spa.
The staff were all very friendly and, luckily for us, most spoke good English. They also spoke German. The food was very good - large breakfast buffet with plenty of choice. Dinner was an extensive antipasto buffet followed by a choice of 3 dishes for the pasta course (typically one pasta, one risotto and one soup) then a choice of 3 main course (generally one meat, one fish and one veggie) and 2 puds, fruit or ice cream. We were there for the large 14th August celebration which included an amazing 7 course dinner - highly recommended except that it finished at midnight which was too late for the children.
The downsides were the appalling WiFi which had zero signal in the garden room area and patchy in the main hotel and that the shuttle bus had to be booked at least a day in advance so a spontaneous trip wasn't possible - a second bus or larger one would be a big help.

Room Tip: Garden rooms are excellent for families and the guests in the main hotel don't seem to know ther...

Amazing rooms in reception building. Very bad Wi-FI. Food is very good but not ideal. Amazing territory. Great owns of the hotel at reception. Very good swimming pools. Free transfer to the beach and to the Forio. I liked this hotel. But please: make good Wi-Fi

From the minute we arrived at this hotel to the moment we left we were made to feel welcome. The staff could not have been more friendly or more helpful. Our room was large and comfortable. There were always plenty of sun loungers around the pool area and it was quiet (no piped music which I hate). We particularly enjoyed the hot thermal waters. The spa area was also good. We had the best fango treatment we have ever had. The gardens were beautiful, even in autumn they were full of flowers. We enjoyed our meals in the restaurant, particularly the leisurely lunches on the terrace with a sea and mountain view. The hotel provides a shuttle bus into Forio which we used a few times, it was never a problem getting a place on it.

My family and I were so impressed with our stay at Hotel Paradiso Terme that I promised the innkeeper that I would write my first ever review to tripadvisor.

We were steered to Ischia (The Green Island) by my expatriate daughter and her Napolitano boss. Americans tend to travel to what I call Disney-Italia in the much and deservedly ballyhooed North. But if you want to get to know the real Italy you have to see and live the life in the South and the Bay of Naples. With its well known and well trod Pompeii, Capri, Sorrento and the Amalfi coast, we highly recommend that you add the beautiful island of Ischia.

Quiet, relaxing and beautiful, Ischia and the Hotel Paradiso are a great introduction to the Southern culture of relaxing by the sea in therapeutic thermal spas and pools surrounded by incredible hikes and views. This island and this hotel are unique places worth the stay.

The Hotel Paradiso is nestled just below the top of an extinct volcano on the quiet western end of the island overlooking the spectacular Poseidon's Garden Thermal Park. This same volcano's healing waters gives the hotel it's incredible terme baths, modern spa, great pools and incredible surroundings.

I was a hotelier and managed luxury waterfront hotels in Monterey, California. As a very demanding and critical professional I can assure you that the Romano family and their staff knows what it takes to make this a truly memorable escape.

Those of us who have striven to provide superior guest experiences know that cleanliness, high quality accommodations, complete and modern facilities, and price / value are extremely important in driving repeat business. These the staff and ownership of Hotel Paradiso do in an exemplary manner, every day, with every guest's needs foremost in their minds. This is how a top notch destination hotel is supposed to be run.

When a hotelier talks about a truly unique and memorable stay at a hotel, the final and most important ingredient is how the guest felt they were treated and how welcome they were made to feel. We call this "hospitality". It is really more than anticipating what the guest needs. It is about a genuine love and sincere appreciation for serving your guests with friendship, warmth and that extra spark where a stay has become a deeper connection with others. This you will find at the Hotel Paradiso. The owners and their staff bring a unique and almost spiritual striving in their service to their guests.

We will return and we will recommend this hotel highly to our most discriminating friends.

The hotel is a clean and welcoming place with the typical Ischia style of tiles and colours.
A relaxing place with magnificent gardens. The members of the family that run it are very friendly and always present, the staff is well trained and friendly,a very competent blonde lady at reception,Ciro at the bar ,the very best a customer can have as a bar man and Nello running the restaurant at good speed,so far so good....the views and the tranqullity top....the rooms are clean and with enough space, but in need of upgrading. Our bathroom was poor, clean but with a very old and narrow shower, looking very tired, the air conditioning system is old and loud too!The television was very old with bad signal a very poor selection of channels..only CNN for english speakers...more german channels... ...The Purgatory:there is a bar at the pool which opens at 3pm!!!! I couldn't believe it....3PM! no service around the pool and if you buy a mineral water bottle, from the bar upstairs, 1lt costs £2.50 euro and is made of glass...very unsafe around the pool area!!!! there is a bar on top of 2 sets of stairs indoor....which is open from 9 am but no ice creams for kids there and you must be dry to walk up there because the tiles are very slippery too!! When the pool bar opens poor Ciro runs up and down like crazy....apparently an extra person costs a fortune to employ..Hell:Breakfast if you are british is a nightmare...if you are from the continent ..forget! Coffe or tea not served at table but you have to get it from an automated machine...poor quality not good enough in the capital of coffee, campania, and at busy time there is a queue..not what I want to do when on holiday in a 4 star hotel...I use to queue up like that in the army in 1990....We stayed for 6 nights 2 rooms 5 people.
Dinner was a nightmare too,the food is poor, small portions and most of the time it looked like they were reusing the ingredients from the previuos day...We decided to stay half board but skipped dinner to have lunch for 5 days and went out at night because the food on the island is very good...and good value too...So dear Paradiso..thanks but I will not come back again!
Four stars this place is not....

My husband and I spent 3 days at Hotel Paradiso for our honeymoon last week. The staff were incredibly polite and nothing was too much trouble. On arrival, we were given a free upgrade in honour of our nuptuals. We were also given a great discount on the 2 massages we each enjoyed during our stay. As if this wasn't enough, we were given complementary prosecco and a bottle wine as part of our romantic meal on Saturday night. The pools and views are amazing and the food delicious. After the stress of wedding planning, we really enjoyed our 3 days at Hotel Paradiso - a mini honeymoon to remember! A real plus is also the hotel's free shuttle service to the beach, Posiedon's garden's and the centre of Forio. The only criticism we have is that we should have stayed longer! We are looking forward to returning for longer for one of our future anniversaries!

The hotel is nice and well located, in fact you can enjoy great views and a beautiful sunset, the only problem the narrow access road and a little bumpy, the staff is friendly. A couple of things made me very disappointed: the fact the hotel charges you for water at dinner and lunch, 2.5 euros for a liter bottle.
Another thing to pay attention to is the wifi, not really fully but just for half an hour; after my complaints they  extended the acces up to 2 hour, then if you need full access take into account this additional constraint.
But the most annoying thing is that this is not expressly stated in the proposed commercial.
My opinion is that a four star hotel cannot impose these limitation to his guests.

, Owner at Paradiso Terme Resort & Spa, responded to this review, 3 July 2012
We thank Mr. Lazzaro for his comments and for the 7 nights stay with his big and nice family in our Resort in June 2012. We are really sorry about the complains but at the same time he gives us the opportunity to explain again that our Hotel is not an “all inclusive Resort” but a traditional Hotel with a good service and a friendly staff – as he also recognized. Until now, our guests had never been disappointed that a bottle of mineral water – served cold at table from a friendly and professional Staff – at Dinner or Lunch - in the air conditioned Hotel Restaurant or on the panoramic Restaurant terrace cost 2,5 Euros. Most of our guests appreciate our Service. Anyway, we will think about your complaint for the future. Regarding the second point, we assure that the WiFi connection is Free. The duration depends on the offer and varies from 30 minutes to 4 hours per day, non-continuous. The Paradiso Terme Resort & SPA is not a business Hotel but a leisure Resort, nice and well located with great views and unforgettable sunsets, where most of our guests prefer to enjoy the quite and beauty of nature, away from the stress. The Management never tried or thought to impose limitations to the guests. We are really sorry about this interpretation of Mr. Lazzaro and we will be happy to welcome him again in the future. Grazie.
