Alberto and the entire staff treated us royally. We called from Ischia Porto after arriving on the ferry and were promptly picked up by Alberto who gave us our first thrilling ride on the narrow town roads. Ischia is an explosion of flowers, fruit trees, and greenery. We had accommodations on the top floor with a view out back of the wooded mountainside. The hotel is spotless, bright, and welcoming. There is a jacuzzi on the top deck with a great view of the town and waterfront and a thermal pool and spa on the lower floor. Drinks of all sorts are available at the bar in the lobby. The room was clean, quiet, and of adequate size. The bathroom was modern and spotless. During the day, the air conditioning was necessary, but once the air cooled off at night, we turned ac off and opened the window to enjoy the cool island breeze. No sounds other than an occasional distant dog or rooster. Other guests were mostly Italian and some Northern European. No other North Americans that we were aware of during our stay. Everyone felt like family soon after our arrival. Alberto gave us information on local buses, the ferry to Capri and shuttled us to and from town and the beach at Lacco Ameno. You are about half a mile from the waterfront, but with super-easy access using local transportation. Also, Alberto was always eager to drive us wherever we needed to go. He is everywhere all the time. I asked him if he had a twin brother working with him, because his attention to all details was complete. The other staff consisted of other family members, brother, wife, sister. All of them dedicated to ensuring your needs were always met. We don't speak Italian, but had no problem communicating anything and everything to everyone there. With half-board, we had breakfast with a variety of yogurts, cereal, sweet breads, juice, bacon and eggs, fruit, and of course, Cappuccino. Dinner was punctual at 8 pm and you had a choice between courses with fish or meat; however, tastes of both choices were given to you as well. The food was excellent and plentiful, salmon pasta, shrimp, grilled sea bream, pork tenderloin. So much variety and all gourmet. You have an assigned table. Wine is extra with the meal. A bottle of local wine was about 10e, house wine about 4e for a jug. One day, we took off on the local buses (1.40e per ticket/90 minutes) and explored the island and the other communities. Using a local bus, we were dropped within a few yards of the hotel. Easy! We would be eager to stay at Villa Sirena again and were sad to leave. It was one of the high points of our Italy trip.

Hotel Villa Sirena was one of the most pleasant hotels were we stayed in. The staff are extremely friendly and helpfull, clean rooms, very good food prepared with dedication, excellent shuttle-service and a good location to visit the rest of the island. The service and kindness of the staff is something to remember. In Holland we dont see that too often. If we visit Ischia again, Hotel Villa Sirena would be the place to stay for us.

We could not have been more impressed by the service offered at Hotel Villa Sirena. We stayed for two nights as part of our honeymoon, and the entire staff were an absolute delight. When we arrived, we were immediately offered a welcome drink on the terrace, and were then shown to our spotless room, where a bottle of prosecco awaited us. Alberto was the consummate host, constantly offering guidance and tips, and we really couldn't have felt more welcome. Ischia is a beautiful but busy and bustling island, but the peace and calm of Villa Sirena provided an idyllic base. Our room had a wonderful view back on to the island's highest, greenest peak, and the silence was most welcome after the busy roads. Equally, the exquisite food served in the evenings was a daily treat, while the breakfast was probably the best we had whilst on honeymoon. Hotel Villa Sirena may not be for everyone - given the synchronised, communal dining times, and the shuttle from the hotel into town, if you are an independent traveller hoping for plenty of personal space and a private, anonymous experience, try elsewhere - but we had a wonderful time and the entire staff did absolutely everything to make our stay truly memorable. Thank you again, Alberto, and the whole Villa Sirena team - and we'll try to actually make it to the spa the next time we visit!

I hate sharing this information because we felt like we discovered the best place in the world. Not only is the island magnificent, but Hotel Villa Sirena was, without a doubt, the best hotel we've ever stayed at. That came down to the owners of the place who made you feel like family and took care of your every need. The food was unbelievably good - the best we had in Italy. And you have thermal pools in the basement of the hotel! Yes you read right. I finally converted my husband to the spa life. The place is clean and cozy and the atmosphere is just so much fun. We stopped in the hotel for a day and ended up staying all week. Considering the cost for the room, this is the best kept secret. You will not regret it!!

Room Tip: Not all rooms have a view to the city so ask for one when you book.

This is our third year in a row that we spend 2 weeks with our son (3 years old) and my parents at Villa Sirena. And for the third year, what a treat!!! as usual excellent hospitality, wonderful food (Ghigo the cook is the Jamie Oliver of Italy!), great service to explore the island and a wonderful relaxing atmosphere. The highlights of this year have been a trip to the agriturismo O' sole mio (bruschetta in the middle of a vineyard looking out at Capri!), a concert of classical music at the Mortella gardens and the literary cafe in the former villa of Luchino Visconti. All these recommended by Arnaldo, Alberto and Luisa, the 3 Musketeers of Villa Sirena.
Our Son Sam is been calling for Arnaldo every time he sees a white van!!! Wonderful memories which will have to last until next year! Thanks again.
