“An amazing honeymoon experience!”
Reviewed 12 August 2014

This hotel made an amazing first stop on our honeymoon- right from the second we stepped through the door the staff went out of their way to ensure that we had a fantastic time. First rate service, beautiful surroundings, and stunningly good food at Il Mosaico.

I spend 3 nights 4 days on this location, awesome experience. The best Hotel of all we stay in Italy for 3 weeks. Even when it is not located on one of the main cities, they have shuttles that go from picking you up at the Ferrie to take you to the beach, the shuttles run very, very often.

My only advice to the them is to provide a clear explanation of all their services at check in like (a) beach passes, (b) shuttle service, (c) pick up/drop off at Ferrie Port . Maybe they can advertise this on web site and also explain it during check in. They do have a very good explanation of all hotel amenities when you check in but for some reason the beach passes and the ferry pick up/drop off was not address. We luckily were pick up at Ferrie due to the fact that we called to find out to which port in Ischia to arrive, when we said which one they said they will be glad to pick us up.

Their service and friendliness is part to none (the best!).

If this hotel was rated 3.5 or 4 I would be OK with it. The service was good. However, the location was not prime. In fact the hotel looked like it was in a very down scale part of Ischia with no sea view. The decor was tacky and dated. This hotel needs a decorator ASAP.
What makes this hotel 4 stars in my eyes is the great staff at the spa and at reception. The staff in the restaurants were snooty, food overpriced (and we dine out a lot.. No I don't consider McD's dining out lol).
If you are hell bent on staying in Ischia because the thermal parks are indeed awesome-save your money and stay in another hotel.

Up some way from the town of Ischia, with no sea view but a view of the mountain. It is the worst taste hotel imaginable. Everything is reproduction - mock 18th and 19th century in the most tacky style. Who could have designed anything like this? The staff were friendly but seemed trained to 'sell the spa'. Breakfast was average. The roof top pool was abandoned due to bad weather but there is a large indoor spare pool. Our room was comfortable but aesthetically awful. If you have any style I cant imagine you would want to stay here. The two rosette Michelin restaurant is expensive and disappointing. We will not return! Overrated.

Dear Guest,

I thank you for taking the time to write your feedback about your stay at Terme Manzi Hotel & Spa. I am sorry that your experience did not meet your expectations. The hotel is located in Casamicciola Terme, surrounded by mount Epomeo, one of the most enviable locations in Ischia and I apologize if you didn’t find any sea view but as per our hotel description we never mention we have sea view.
The restyle of the hotel was made by a famous Italian architect Cesar Longo. It reflects the many of the cultures that have shaped the island of Ischia. All the décor is original including many antiques, such as a chandelier is originally from Murano, the city of excellence for the most beautiful creations in glass, it is obvious that this style of décor is not to your liking.
In regards to our Restaurant Il Mosaico, for which we always receive compliments, probably the atmosphere of the restaurant and the food was beyond your comprehension, moreover our prices are consistent with other Michelin stars Restaurants.

With my sincere regards,
The Owner

Stayed at Terme Manzi for our honeymoon 2014 and had an absolutely fabulous experience. The hotel is very luxurious with beautiful decorations most in marble. The spa is small but offers good and professional treatments. They have a large, warm indoor pool and a very nice pool on the roof with wonderful views. Breakfast is absolutely delicious with only the best of the best of all that's offered. The two star Guide Michelin restaurant "Il Mosaicho" is and experience all on its own. If you have a voucher however, like we did for a "free dinner", make sure to ask what is included in "free". We ended up paying heaps of money for water that you assumed was included.

Room Tip: Choose a room high up on the opposite side of the reception (under the roof pool) with balcony towar...

I stayed here for a few days in April 2014. We had booked it as a result of an offer, so we weren't fully clued up as to where it was. If I were visiting Ischia again, I think I would probably stay in Forio, which is the liveliest town with the most to do. Casamicciola is one of the smaller towns, and the hotel is up a hill, about a 10-15 min walk, inland from the shore. There's really not much to do in Casamicciola but it is fairly easy to get around by taxi so that needn't be a problem.

The hotel's spa is lovely, with a large warm pool beautifully decorated with pillars and mosaics. There is also a steam room, sauna and cold plunge pool which are very refreshing.

One gripe concerns the wifi. It is simply inadequate and I spent literally hours logging back in, as devices are disconnected after a matter of minutes. As always, I have removed a star for this reason, so this would otherwise have been a 4 star review.

There is a bar on the first floor, with an intrepid singer, and two restaurants. Other reviewers have rightly commented on the slightly bizarre service at mealtimes. It is peculiar but quite funny if you are in the mood. In effect, there seems to be a fair amount of confusion amongst the waiting staff.

One restaurant is cheaper and does simple Italian food. The other is more haute cuisine, and v expensive. We had the tasting menu and the highlights were the rabbit selection and the 'non-smoking' desert, which is inspired. However I cannot warn you strongly enough to avoid, at all costs, the Sea Bass dish, which is beyond disappointment. It arrives covered in an unidentified black grit, rather like dirt, and is effectively inedible. I might also note that this is the first restaurant I have eaten in which has, as well as the usual wine list, a water list!

We never used the pool on the roof, but there are nice views from up there and the outdoor restaurant there is good too, if a little windy at times.

My wife and I spent 2 nights in Terme Manzi and it was a very enjoyable stay.

High standard accommodation and even higher quality service from all staff we encountered combined with excellent Thermal Spa and one of the best restaurants in Italy (Il Mosaico) made it a memorable experience which we will repeat in the not too distant future.
