Hotel La Sirenella was simply amazing all around. This was my first trip to Italy with my wife and her mother (who were both born and raised in Naples). The location can't be beat. It is in the town of Lacco Ameno, Ishchia, off the coast of Naples, Italy. It has a wonderful little beach, and access to the beach here at La Sirenella is included in the cost of the room (as are the chairs and umbrellas). The town offers nice little shops for souveniers, and even more upscale shopping as well. It is very close to other parts of the island, and is a port of its own (we caught a boat to the Island of Capri right in front of the hotel). The food here is mostly fresh seafood including squid, octopus, clams, mussels, lobster, prawns, and every sort of fresh fish caught right here near the island (the staff buy it fresh from the boats every afternoon!!!), but also includes all types of pasta, and that wonderful staple of southern Italy... brick oven, thin crust Pizza!!! I am including a few pictures of the food and the hotel. We stayed almost three weeks, and the chef and staff at La Sirenella surprised us with something new every night. The food here was simply the best I had in all of Italy (we did some of the other islands, Naples, and Rome). If the food and location aren't enough to convince you to stay here, then let me say the owners (Silvana), her son (Luigi), and two daughters (Barbara and Giorgia) were amazing and gracious hosts. It was like they were part of our family by the time we left. I would absolutely recommend this hotel to anyone wanting some peace and serenity in southern Italy, especially in te months of June and September. Happy Travels!!!

A good friend of ours with very discerning taste recommended this hotel to us. We stayed at La Sirenella 6 nights from June 21 - 27 and we loved every moment! The rooms are hubig, cozy and just perfect. Our balcony offered a spectacular view of the marina and ocean. Our package included breakfast and it was the best we had in all of our Italian stay! Giorgia and her family made our stay just magical with the arrangement of a scooter rental awaiting for us outside the hotel, great advice on the best spa to visit, shops to go to and places to eat (of course the hotel was one of our favorite - they even had a nutella pizza!).

If you want t a reall y central place, with your own beach (really you can roll out of your bed and be on the beach), and feel like you are staying at home more than staying at a hotel, I highly recommend La Sirenella. It was just magical for us.

My boyfriend and I stayed at La Sirenella for two nights in late September. We had a room on the upper floor, facing the sea with a large balcony. It was lovely to wake up to the sound of the waves rolling into the shore and opening the curtains to a beautiful view of the harbour and Naples in the far distance. We didn't see any other hotels in Lacco Ameno with such a great beachfront location.

Whilst the room was simply furnished, we felt that this complemented the beachy, cool style of the hotel. The bathrooms had been renovated and the entire room was spotless and had all amenities required (hairdryer, air conditioning etc).

The staff were very helpful and the food in the restaurant was lovely, although breakfast could have been a bit more exciting (croissant, cereal and toast - fruit or yoghurt would have been nice additions!)

In general, Lacco Ameno was also a great place to stay on Ischia. It had easy access to other nearby towns, including the main Ischia port, and best of all, was a 10 minute walk from Negombo - an amazing open spa resort with a beautiful beach. As a hint for other travellers, avoid hiring a car or scooter - the bus service around the island is cheap and regular (it appeared to run 24/7) and is a much more peaceful way of getting around the island.

This is a restaurant with a few bedrooms rather than a hotel. The rooms are small, clean, basic and sparsely furnished. Our room faced out onto the sea and had a view of the unassuming inlet village of Lacco Ameno. It was pretty, but not breathtaking. The restaurant was delicious and the staff were nice, if a little casual (after we checked in our passports were left sitting on their reception desk for hours for anyone to remove them, which I subsequently did) but they did help us out with local info and car rental.
This would be ideal for travelers who want to save money and aren't necessarily looking for luxury. Furthermore, the restaurant is probably the best food and value in the village.

This is an amazing little hotel on the island of Ischia off the coast of Naples. Stayed here for a week after hearing about it from family who stayed here and it completely lived up to expectations. Generally I stay at upscale chain properties (St. Regis, Renaissance, Westin, etc.) but the personal service and friendly, inviting atmosphere offered at La Sirenella completely blew them away.

The hotel only has 14 rooms and is situated right on the harbor with its own private beach in Lacco Ameno - on the north side of the island. There are both seaview and city view rooms, each with its own balcony. The beds are comfortable and the floors are tile (recently redone). All rooms come with showers and bathrooms and I found everything completely spotless and clean. Maid service is great and they do a very thorough job.

The hotel includes breakfast as part of the rate and also you can eat dinner included as part of the pensione plan if you want. There is also a pizzeria and restaurant on property that serves excellent local cuisine and the chef (Enzo) made up special treats for us each night, ranging from freshly prepared mussels to profiteroles.

There is also free wi-fi and beach access for all guests and the owners (Georgia, Barbara, and Luigi) are all extremely hospitable. I strongly encourage anyone who is looking for a haven from the hordes of tourists that descend upon Italy in the summer months to consider Ischia and La Sirenella.
