“Enjoyable experience”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 19 August 2014

We stayed here recently (first 2 weeks in August) for 10 nights, and had a good experience. We had a Superior Room with sea view (#207) which had ample enough space for our long stay. The bathroom was a good size and had a contemporary finish, and the room overall was clean, comfortable, and good quality. The views of the castle from our window were outstanding.
All hotel staff, from the reception, concierge, and waiters, to the guys handing out towels at the pool, were extremely friendly and couldn't do enough to make sure we enjoyed our stay. We found the food to be of a high standard with plenty of choice, and the restaurant staff were professional throughout.

The hotel is in a great location - only 5 minutes by taxi from Ischia Port (€15 which was a bit steep), and only a few moments walk to all of the restaurants and shops in Ischia Ponte. There is also a taxi boat service right outside the hotel to take you further afield.

There are only two things we could find to moan about - the evening entertainer in the bar downstairs. A bit too 'Cabaret' for our liking, and he kept us awake with his crooning one night until 1am.
Also the hotel wifi kept dropping out which became pretty annoying after a while. The reception staff issue you with a code which is supposed to last for 72 hours, but in reality only lasts about 3.

Overall, a really enjoyable holiday spent here and we'd certainly consider booking again in the future.

We stayed here as part of our honeymoon and had a wonderful time. The staff are extremely helpful and answered ALL the questions we had. Location is fantastic. The rooms are small but that is to be expected & I wouldn't let it put you off. Overall a really enjoyable stay. I would love to return some day.

We booked this hotel through Jetsetter, hoping to have found a good deal on a 5 star hotel stay during our trip to Ischia. Cost of the rooms, pictures of the hotel (from their website and on Jetsetter), and other trip advisor reviews led us to believe this place was truly luxurious.

I'm not sure where some of these reviewers were staying but our party was unpleasantly surprised to find an outdated hotel that is far from 5 star standards. Although I have no complaints with the location or service, the interior and decor is nothing like the advertised photos - the hotel appears to be misrepresented. Maybe it was the astroturf sun deck or the YMCA style "spa" downstairs that turned us off.

This hotel would be a good choice as a 3 star stay but definitely not worth the asking price for a room here. I would also advise looking into any future Jetsetter offerings before taking the bait.

I recently spent five nights at the enchanting Miramare e Castello on the island of Ischia. This luxury, seafront hotel offers everything you need to unwind and relax Italian-style. The hotel’s main attraction is its stunning views of the sea and the medieval fortress of Castello Aragonese offshore. It is hard to look away from this imposing sight, visible from almost everywhere in the hotel, but I also enjoyed lazy breakfasts from the enormous buffet in the hotel’s sunny breakfast room, nightly Aperol Spritz cocktails on the hotel’s panoramic terrace and dining on delicious local seafood right at the water’s edge in the hotel’s restaurant La Lampara. My sister and I enjoyed massages and facials in the hotel’s spa – very good treatments offered in tranquil surroundings. We swam daily in the sea from the hotel’s private, uncrowded beach. There is also an indoor pool, filled with Ischia's thermo-mineral water, and an outdoor pool which is romantically lit by polychromatic lighting in the evening. The hotel is reachable by 10-minute taxi ride from the port and we walked into the town of Ischia several evenings for dinner at one of the many small restaurants. The main shopping streets are also reachable on foot. The rooms were clean and comfortable and the housekeeping staff very friendly and efficient. This is the kind of hotel I would love to stay at off-season for a couple of weeks to really unwind and enjoy Ischia’s unique scenery, thermal spas, and friendly hospitality.

This hotel is in a class of its own. It's location perfect inthe beautiful island of ischia. We have been here for 4 days and one to go. Beautiful place, luxurious and deserving of its stars. The staff are fab and not sure whether breakfast or dinner is best. Both are an experience worthy of a great hotel. Italy is noisy in general and you get used to it. Lovely setting recommended highly.Ate in both restaurants excellent. Will come back

Room Tip: Did not use spa as the rest was so good did not have too

We stayed here for one night and were given a complimentary upgrade which made our stay all the more pleasant. The dual aspect windows in our room gave us a fantastic view of the castle and the beach below. The room was a little small but comfortable with the various additions that make it special (gowns, toiletries, soft pillows!). The only downside was the floodlight that stayed on on the beach which meant the shutters and curtains had to be used to block out the light, but this was a minor thing.

Breakfast was plentiful and a great selection. The staff were polite and helpful throughout.

Recommended particularly if you can get a deal!

We stayed for 2 nights are were more than satisfied with everything. The staff very friendly & helpful, our room was spotlessly clean the view from our small balcony was superb (10 star!) The breakfast very enjoyable especially sitting outside was fantastic. Our dinner in the dining room top class. We also enjoyed exploring the area nearby & watching the locals going about their business was delightful. If I ever get the chance again I would return & stay longer to enjoy everything this hotel has to offer.
