I am not sure how to find the words to describe our stay. From the moment we entered the beautiful and luxurious foyer and were greeted by the owner Alessandro, we felt like honoured guests.
Our stay began with a personal tour of the hotel and gardens. It really is a little taste of paradise. The garden is beautiful, lush, peaceful and quiet.
The hotel benefits from both a large outdoor pool, an indoor thermal pool and a private beach area, so guests have a choice of places to relax, swim and chill out.
There are small bars at both the beach and swimming pool where, as with the whole hotel, the service is exemplary.
Our room was spacious, very clean and comfortable and looked over the pool. We were lucky enough to have a small patio area which gave us a sense of privacy and exclusivity.
In fact there was nothing about the hotel that we could wish to improve.
The staff, from the wonderful lady and gentleman who cleaned our room right up to the owner, made us feel welcome and always greeted us with a smile and a word of welcome. Nothing was too much trouble, from arranging a trip to Pompeii to sorting the remote for the TV.
We have stayed in many hotels around the World and can honestly say that this is the most wonderful hotel ever.
Allessandro's philosophy that ' We are the custodians of your precious holiday' was evident in every aspect of our experience at The Excelsior.
We cannot wait to return.

Room Tip: We had a standard room, over looking the pool, which was large and bright.

The decor is quite luxurious and the garden surrounding the hotel give a sense of tranquillity that is welcome after the hustle and bustle of the town. But what is really special about this hotel is the welcoming staff who bend over backwards to accommodate the guests. I have never been so well looked after! We had a junior suite with sea view and it was idillic waking up every morning to the view of the sea and Vesuvius in the distance. Excellent restaurant which not only serves great local food but also provides a buffet of starters and pudding to ensure guests enjoy a selection of both, beware though they are so good that one could overeat! Fortunately the gym, swimming pools and saunas are very good and not too busy. I'd highly recommend this hotel if you need to a place to relax, while at the same time be very close to the centre of town for the occasional shopping trip.

Room Tip: Junior suites are big enough and those with sea view are particularly good.

Very nice 5 star hotel in a parkland setting but 20 metres from the private beach.

Very good front of house staff

Breakfast fine with a good choice. Water for tea is hot not boiling.

Toilet Report: Excellent
Pricing: 5 star
Recomendations to Owner: boiling water for tea. Alex excellent.

I was at the hotel with my friend for 10 days at the end of June. We are returning guests and the welcome we receive from the reception team gets the holiday off to a wonderful start.
The Maitre d, Peppe, and his team with their wonderful service, excellent cuisine is an absolute delight so much so that my husband and I will return to the hotel in September.

I have stayed in various rooms and they are always of a high standard and well appointed.

The pool, gardens and beach are kept immaculately and the view from the terrace is something to treasure.

Look forward to our return in September. Jane Paul
