We stayed here for 2 weeks in June; the Hotel looked a little tired from the front with broken pavement and shabby awnings but a nice sheltered seating area for drinks and coffee or just resting and watching the boats etc. the staff on reception were very welcoming and we soon arrived at our room (there are 2 lifts) we stayed on the 2nd floor with a port view; a small balcony with 2 chairs; the room itself (we booked Superior to be on the safe side) was average, with basic furnishings, bathroom average; overall could do with a bit of updating. Not keen on the plastic covering on the soft furnishings; linen was changed often and they did provide 2 extra pillows on request, we also asked for a kettle which arrived without question. The food was of a good variety and the chef was very ingenious, creating his buffet dishes day after day; as with all Italian hotels; there are always a lot of cakes/pasteries for breakfast as well as dinner; very nice but avert your eyes if you are watching your waistline, there is a fruit option. the dining room staff are friendly, hard working and helpful, Oh, you can use the open air resturant if you want and order from another menu; wine is a bit on the expensive side. there is a small pool (water is very warm) on the 5th floor, sunbeds packed tightly together, you do get talking to the other guests; we had a couple of rainy days and used the indoor spa pool which was very hot, I've never been in anything as hot; there is a sauna room and sun loungers; a pleasant area. there are beauty treatments on offer in the adjoining rooms. Overall the staff make up for what is lacking. the boat trips can be booked at reception or the office across the road, the bus centre is just up the road; the buses are every 15mins or so, there are lots of buses and they provide a bus map (at the little white wooden shed at the station) cheap and you can go anywhere or do a circular tour but they do get rather packed.
We found a little Wine/gift shop just around the corner from the Hotel (same side facing the yatch's) it's about 3 resturants down, you can have a glass or bottle of wine and you can buy to take out, the wine is very good but the best part (apart from Alezzia the girl who works there is the Cave at the back of the shop, amazing, old wine store and museum pieces of equipment ) have a look it's well worth the few minutes walk.

Room Tip: front is more interesting but can be a little noisy at weekends; we never had any trouble sleeping though. doors are double glazed.

Great hotel and location. Food good. Staff friendly. We had a room with a balcony over looking the marina which had good views and spacious; the only down side is that it can be noisy overnight from passing traffic and people, especially over the weekend, but this can be remedied in part by have the door to the balcony closed. The air conditioning work well. The location was ideal for us, as you could walk to the beach and to the good range of shops close by. We would definitely stay at this hotel when we next return to the island.

We arrived at the hotel to be greeted by Maria, who gave us a brief insight into the hotel and surrounding area and then told us we’d been upgraded to a front sea view room. The room was lovely, with a balcony looking over the street and port. We read some reviews which stated that the front rooms were noisy and suffered from exhaust smoke from the boats in the harbour.
I can honestly say we were not kept awake by any noise, nor did we choke from exhaust fumes, quite the contrary, we found the room to have a lovely outlook and enjoyed the use of the balcony.
The hotel is in a great location, right on the harbour front, close to the town, ferries and bus station, so its very easy to find places to go and visit.
The food in the restaurant was of good quality, with a great buffet starter selection and dessert choice, they always offered you ice cream as well! Some of the first and main courses were different to our expectation, but there was always a good choice.
The service from every member of the team was excellent, they could not do enough for you, eager that you enjoyed the food and your stay. Always smiling and greeting you.
The reception team were always keen to tell you of places to visit, how to get there and what to look for.
Attached to the hotel is a restaurant, which gives discount to hotel guests, we had a great lobster meal there. You can also eat your hotel meal at one of their tables and again the service was great.
The hotel has two pools, an indoor and outdoor, both very warm! You can get 24 hour food service, snacks, salads etc.
Be sure to take mosquito repellent, they are prolific and do not take any prisoners!
Overall an excellent hotel, to which we would return.
Thanks to all the staff at The Aragona Palace for a great stay.

This hotel is in an excellent location overlooking the main Port of Ischia.
The rooms in the front have great views of the ships and ferries coming and going although this can be quite noisy early morning sometimes.
It is also in the centre of town, only a few minutes to the main shopping area and about 5 minutes to the beach. There are literally dozens of restaurants within a few minutes stroll. It has two restaurants in the hotel. The internal one serves meals for those on B=B or half board and the A La Carte is to the front with a view of the harbour with open air seating. There is also a smart bar.
We booked a superior room which was on the front with lovely views but the room itself although bright was not overly large with a small bathroom which I would have said should have been a standard room rather than superior, perhaps superior rooms have the harbour view. There is a thermal internal pool which is quite depressing as it is small and cramped, but probably very welcoming in colder months and on the roof there are great sunbathing areas with plenty of beds and chairs with a rooftop bar. There is also a smallish but very nice pool which is also thermal.
All of the staff were fantastic. Helpful, polite, smiling and treated you as if they were genuinely pleased to see you. Manola (I think that is her name) the lead waitress in the restaurant was exceptional and seemed to work with the rest of the team extraordinarily long hours.

Room Tip: Front rooms have great harbour views. There is always something going on so interesting. It can get a bit noisy when the ferries come in.
